Making a website - would anyone pay?

Hello, I was thinking of making a website that teaches you the following:
  • SEO
  • PHP
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Web Design
  • Wordpress
  • Setting up your website
  • How to get traffic
  • How to use blogger
  • And everything else in that category

It would be a subscription website, cost around $5-$10 a month to join.

If I made this would anyone buy a subscription?

The content would be in video & PDF format.

Thanks

Yes, I have done this for local businesses. They will pay. But, it seems to be very competitive.

There are a ton of free resources providing the same educational content. You would need to really provide something unique or additional value for someone to pay monthly.

Your ship sailed 10 years ago. You'll need to provide a lot more today if you want to get $5-$10/mo out of them.

The price is right, but you have serious competition from Udemy.com.

I'd be tempted to advise you to just make really great courses and upload them there for a decent price.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

    Carbonate,

One of the things you'll begin to notice as you face the dilemma of teaching others how to do something online is the fact that for any given task there are X number of people that want to learn how to do it themselves and Y number of people that don't care to learn "how," they just want the task done for them and will pay someone to do it.

More and more, I think Y is growing much faster than X. I think there will almost always be more folks wanting to buy a technical task done for them (like you're talking about) than people wanting to learn how to do programming, web design, DIY traffic, etc.

So, in direct answer to your question, yes, there will be people who want to learn how do these things, but I believe the market is much larger (and will pay significantly more) for these same tasks done by you.

Whichever route you choose there will be some major competition.

Whichever route you choose, I would suggest finding an angle to what you offer so that you narrow the competition and focus on a very targeted audience. Become the "logical choice" for this niche and insist on always bringing quality and customer care to everything you do.

    The very best to you.

Sounds like a total waste of time to me! That is the kind of information that can be obtained for free with minimal effort, why should anybody bother to pay you for it?

Temporary occupation of some valuable piece of technical real-estate, followed by a negotiated retreat with full coffers
