    Been there.

I had a product out a few years ago (my FIRST one), and I sold probably 40-50, and refunded about 10.

Most of the time the customer didn't read the ad copy right, or if it was a download, they just wanted it for free.

Either way, that's the name of the game, but hang in there! I have several products up now, but with no one buying yet. I need to work more on the marketing and getting "it out there".

At least you know you've got something someone wants!!!

    Good Luck Kirahster!

I agree with this one. Many people too lazy to read at least the agreement or they don't care if the product is refundable or not.

Yea that does suck! I've had that happen before. Just don't let it get to you and keep putting the effort in.

Don't give up! My first affiliate sale resulted in a refund, too, but that's just the nature of affiliate and internet marketing. If you've made one sale, then you've already proven to yourself that you can make others. Good Luck!

That's so true. You know that your marketing efforts are going in the right direction so the refund was just down to bad luck or the product itself.

      Well done anyway

I had a product, it was an E-Book. The ebook was locked for copying and printing. I was the only one with the password and if someone wanted a refund they had to give me the product back. It wasn't perfect because I am sure they could write all the information down. I think it made people think twice, especially if they really like the product.

I'm sorry! This happened to me last year when I first starting promoting some CB products. One of them just turned out to have a super high refund rate. I finally found a few products with low refund rates. In fact there is one that I make maybe 3 sales per week on and I've only have 1 refund in 6 months on it.

      Hi Kirahster,

Well, congrats on your first sale! Too bad it ended up as a refund.

Since you said it was on ClickBank, I'm curious -- was it a sale you made as an affiliate for someone else's product, or was it your first sale on your OWN product that you created and uploaded to sell through ClickBank?

It was a sale that I made as an affiliate.

I also have my own product that I sell through a simple webpage with a paypal button and then paypal forwards to a page to download the product. I find it much easier to make sales with my own product but I don't have any inspiration at the moment about a new product and I want to expand my business so I am advertising other peoples products and it is not easy.

The first sale is the most important, and keep going. More than the money, it is a psychological trigger in your mind that gives you a reason to keep going. You understand how it works, so now you only need to scale your efforts up.

I had the same thing happen a few months ago. First sale followed by first refund.
