Just curious to see who here actually loves being a student of the game. Marketing in general just brings me lots of joy. Which really is just my intrigue with human nature and selling pyschology. Just as Michael Jordan loved basketball, I loving what I do. My question is do you actually enjoy marketing and doing the tough work, or just talking about it? Like coming on forums debating. Neither is good or bad, right or wrong. |

I really love marketing and read lots of it Dan Kennedy, Seth Godin, Al Ries, marketing is the most rewarding thing in business if you know how to do it right and the most profitable.

My passion for marketing is always there and how I channel that passion differs with my mood and whatever's going on with my business at that time. If I'm busy with the business, then I tend not to visit the forums. In fact, during those times I almost develop a disdain for places like the WF - thinking that people are just wasting time chatting on about stuff when they could be 'doing'. During quieter times I like to have a chat or debate, look for new things and even dare to offer advice. I like having a bit of a laugh too. This place is good for all those things. So I guess I have a bit of a hypocritical, Jekyll and Hyde approach to forums but I always like marketing, for similar reasons as yourself, Daniel; the psychology of the selling and marketing process just fascinates me. Actually, my problem is more that I love learning about it (or pretty much anything for that matter) above the doing of whatever it is. I only like to talk about it after I've done it.

I'm a psychology student and I'm just getting into marketing. I find it fascinating how much the two overlap!

I love internet marketing. I've been in this business since I was 15 and ripping money out of this my computer is an ideal lifestyle for me. I don't see internet marketing as job. Maybe more like a hobby to me. |

Outside of spending time with my family, and fishing.. There's not much that makes me happy like getting schooled by marketing practice and testing myself... forums, networking.. social etc, all come second best to some real action when the mood takes me ![]() It's in my veins.. Peace Jay |

I like putting effort into a quality campaign and seeing it taking off. Really, I like watching the results and tweaking a successful effort more than doing the grunt setup work. I also like talking about it a lot, aka forum post disease, that's why I don't have a lot more money ![]() TomG. |

I also absolutely love marketing. Not just IM but offline as well. I have been in advertising and marketing for over 10 years and it is "work that doesn't seem like work". There is an old adage that if you are working and time passes without you even noticing, that is what you are supposed to be doing. Well, I cann sit at my computer designing a webpage and before I realize it, 4-5 hours have passed. Guess that's what I should be doing. Thanks |
