Help a 16/yo kid make his dream

Alright guys, I joined WF a few months ago and read around. I've been looking into Internet Marketing for some time now however I need help to get started. Not charity, just advice.

First I guess I should tell you about me. I'm 16 and from Australia. I'm fairly academic and do hard subjects at school however it feels like a prison for my mind. I just can't think the way I want to at school. Being able to market what I want and do something I love would be a dream come true. I will finish school and try my hardest while continuing on with my dream of Internet Marketing. I will not fail school and I won't fail with my dream. I'll achieve both one way or another.

I've read several threads on forums and tried to find my niche, however I just can't see an opening. Maybe I'm blind, but I feel I just need a pointer.

I want to help my family and be the best I can possibly be and I believe this is the way. I won't pretend I have a tough life, but mum works hard as hell to keep our family supported and I would love for her not to have to worry about money for the first time in her life.

My interests are:
Health & Fitness (I work at a gym)
Academics
Astronomy
Sport
Fashion

From what I can see these areas are already flooded. I just need some starting help.

I am learning HTML and CSS through Codecademy. I feel confident that once I find my niche I can build a nice website and have ads to generate revenue.

If anyone has any idea, any little thing at all I would love to hear it. So please, give me a hand.

    Hi,

with internet marketing it does not really matter much if a niche is already flooded, specially with the health and fitness niche, this is a HUGE niche with much money making potential, it is a big market, many people are already in that market but with marketing on the internet that does NOT mean a bad thing perse.

You will NEVER find a niche that is not yet flooded, the key is creating attractive and valuable content and have the ability to get targeted traffic to your sites, and do all this in a way that costs you as little time as possible while making as much as you can, THIS is the challenge.

    The only two really important thing you need to learn to start making money online are;
    - getting high amounts of highly targeted traffic
    - create sites and pages that CONVERT well

both these things generally take some time to learn, and that is what you should focus on, and it will all become clear...

    good luck!

Start off with Fiverr and other freelance websites to bring in some sort of income; it may be small, but enough to get you started. Once you have $100-200 is when you should begin to start bringing in more money with other methods which you may figure out along the way. There are many ways to generate an income online, such as: website flipping, affiliate marketing etc. You need to establish which best suits you in terms of money and what you consider to be enjoyable. No point selling product you typically have no interest in.

I hate to say this as you seem a nice kid but I believe the forum has an over 18's only rule here so you may get your account removed.

Sorry, I may be wrong and I don't make up the rules either.

Don't give up though, you've got the right attitude and plenty of time to achieve things.

i am not familiar with the age rules in here but whatever you do in your life, you need a plan... or at least the first 2-3 steps must be planned ... write down your ideas on piece of paper and by there, they will be developed little by little

I went to school and got good grades. Wow, what a concept!

For every teen that succeeds at anything, there's 999,999 more than don't. And of those that do, they rarely have to ask for help in forums. Their parents do much of the work, and the rest is natural talent.

Sorry kid, but the odds are against you. I suggest doing good in school.

Unless you can find a way to attract massive traffic to your site, ads are not the best way to go. I'd look into a combination of product development and affiliate marketing. You may need your mother's help/backing to get some of the things you need until you reach the age of consent.

That said, you have a workable list here. Now you need to massage it to find niche opportunities within your interests. One way to do that is to mix and match them, then look for problems to solve.

For example, working at a gym. Besides the obvious "fitness" stuff, let's look at how you might use two interests to find a niche.

Fitness + Academics > Using exercise to improve grades without extra study time.

Fitness + Astronomy > Not sure about this one.

Fitness + Sport > Exercise program to enhance performance for specific sports. How to avoid or recover from specific sports injuries. Keep brainstorming.

Fitness + Fashion > Fashion mistakes you've seen at the gym (this could even be humorous).

You sound like a bright kid, so I think you're getting my drift.

Good luck, and we'll see you back in a couple of years...
