Default If YoU use Clickbank to sell products, CLOAK Your Payment Button Link...

Hey guys,

just wanted to give you some advice incase you didnt already know this...

if you are a product vender at Clickbank and you use clickbank as your merchant...

...On your sales page, where the buy now button is, make sure you cloack the payment link...

for example the link that goes to the payment page will be something like:

http://2.cbid.pay.clickbank.net

you need to use a tinyurl or a link cloaker so people wont be able to see your CB payment link.

This is because people would find your test mode link and then get your product for free, or they could snoop around at your other prodcts you sell, or if you have a cheaper price point etc...

so make sure you cloack your payment links so no one can potentially steal your product...

Good idea, Jani!

Some people have been promoting the idea of modifying Clickbank sales links to "get discounts" for years.

If you use a decent download management system (like DLGuard...*ahem*), your sales link will be cloaked anyway, but also if someone tries to modify your link like that, they won't get the download.

I get people emailing me from time to time who have through they were getting themselves a sweet deal, but it turns out they tried to buy a lower priced product I sell from the same Clickbank account, and had their download rejected.

Also, it's always a good idea to turn your test products off, or at least make sure they don't lead to real download links.

If you're having these problems often, it'd be worth looking into adding some security to your site, via DLGuard (DLGuard - Download page protector, create expiring download links), for example.

cheers
Sam
