I have an ebook I plan to write in a specific niche. How do I go about automating collecting payment and auto delivering the ebook with the least cost? I want an effective method that would yield me the most profit. Thanks.

P.S. I already have many places in mind to promote it.

go around and get it set up with a bunch of the affiliate networks (clickbank, cj, etc.) reach out to affiliates in the niche that your book is written and get them to help you promote it. start running with it and new things always come up once you start taking action

I sure wish I could post an affiliate link here...I'm always open to PMs if anyone wants to reach out for my affiliate link

but...I've been using eJunkie since 2009.

Though it's internal interface can be a 'little' challenging to grasp--at least some of the more advanced functions--it really is great for setting up automated delivery. Using a site like eJunkie, you would then have to integrate it with a payment processor, like Paypal. Basically, the way it works is: someone finds your sale page, they purchase, the product is automatically delivered, and the funds are deposited in your Paypal account.

    It's really a great arrangement.

There are MANY approaches you can take. But, essentially, you need 3 things:

    1) You need to finish your e-book. And it needs to be a good product -- otherwise you'll be hit with a high refund rate.

    2) You need a web page with an effective sales letter. If your sales copy is poorly written, it won't matter how good your product is. This is CRITICAL to your success.

    3) You need targeted traffic. You can use so-called "free" methods (which aren't free -- you pay with your time) or paid methods such as Pay-Per-Click. With PPC, you need to do some simple break-even math to determine whether that sort of traffic is likely to be profitable.

Accepting payment and delivering the e-book is really the easiest part. Again, there are many options. For example, you could use a simple service such as e-junkie.com. They BOTH accept payments and deliver your product. Another popular alternative is ClickBank.

    Good Luck,

    John

Sell it on ebay or promote it on craigslist

You probably know of most of the marketing channels. Whatever tickles your fancy really. Some use social media, some use Craigslist. One author used BitTorrent to get word out (granted, he already had a huge following and promoted it in other ways).

Maybe, you should finish writing it first. But once you are done, sell it on Clickbank, Amazon and E-bay. Just make a good description to highlight its best parts (without spoiling them) and make only a few sections of your book available for public access. Also, promote it on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.

Basically, once it's finished you have three options:

1.) sell it in online bookstores such as amazon or smashwords. You get 70% royally payments on every copy you sell. In order to sell copies, you still need to promote the crap out of the link to the book. You can do that by yourself by investing your time intelligently placing your links around the Internet, or you can use paid advertising.

2.) You can sell the book directly from your website. In this case you will need to setup a merchant account and an online shopping cart. Simply use paypals free merchant service, and use E-Junkie for $5/month. It's very easy to set everything up once you have your accounts set up. After that is complete, the same marketing techniques apply as above.

3.) You could let affiliates sell your book for you by loading your book on clickbank or any other affiliate network.

Make sure you format your book correctly by following along the smashwords style guide. Also make sure you include a nice table of contents that is clickable. Use OpenOffice to covert the book to PDF.

Also use myecovermaker.com to make a nice cover.

Now it's just about promoting the hell out of your book!

im1217, I would advise you to keep it simple. If it is purely for a simple sales processor just use a direct PayPal button.

Alternatively you can use JVZoo, that way if it does well you are all set to recruit affiliates.

    All the best

Well, there are still a lot of people who are struggling to find proven buyers. You are lucky to have come up with a great list the time you released your first e-book. And, I must say, $30,000? You must have gone through a lot to get those digits. Awesome job!

Also you have built up some excitement for your new book and once its live you just announce it to your list and press send.

After that....heavenly non stop emails from Paypal all day long! :p

On top of that, build relationships with people!

Just in general because you never know, and also on purpose for JV affiliate recruitment

This is real heart to heart advice.

You should sell your ebook through Amazon (Kindle) because they promote your ebook for you and many readers go directly there. You don't need to sell cheap ebooks. As a matter of fact, the most expensive ones are more successful than the $0.99 and $2.99 ebooks.

Here's an interesting concept for you.

Set up your sales page and use a PayPal button for payment and charge whatever figure you have in mind, but also, give them the option to join your list and get the book free.

You will be surprised how many opt to actually pay for it .. rather than join your list.. but of course, they do this anyway in order to get your download link.

Are there any benefits to this? well you can build 2 separate lists - 1 for serious buyers and 1 for information seekers and market to them accordingly

The OP is looking for ways to collect payments and auto deliver the ebook with the least costs.

So one of the cheaper options would be to obviously use a PayPal payment button and redirect your buyers to a squeeze page where you'll ask for their email address in order for them to also receive further updates.

As soon as they optin they'll receive an instant notification email with the download link and your other details. Look at this email as your first chance of further establishing a nice relationship and don't forget to mention that you'll send over regular updates.

    You have several options,

    1. Use Clickbank for everything...they give you payment buttons, handle all payments and returns as well they have a full affiliate management capability that allows partners to offer your ebook and automatically handle payouts to those partners.

    2. Use a platform like Ejunkie - similar to CB without as wide a marketplace (less exposure to partners) so you need to spend more time chasing partners (which you willl need to do at first anyway)

    3. Use a payment processor such as Paypal, 2 Checkout or Google Checkout and use a front-end shoppingcart or affiliate management utility such as 1SC - this will be more expensive but more scalable than the solutions above (if you intend to deploy many products)

Ejunkie adds an integrated secure digial product delivery function, to get this with CB you will need to buy a separate script - but you can also accomplish basic security by password protecting a download directory on your webhost and send the password via autoresponder after successful payment is taken (this can happen automatically)

Put it on amazon/kindle if it's original content.

It'll give you more credibility and get it into their search engine.

Amazon has its own delivery & payment processing, and you can use paypal too.

Dropbox and a link to the file on a hidden page will be sufficient if you want to host it yourself.

All of this is free to set up.
