Apart from PayPal, what do you use?

Hey Warriors

What are you using for payment processing apart from PayPal?

I ask this because we've just implemented Authorize.net and 2checkout to our platform, and want to know what other payment processors/platforms most IMers use.

Thanks in advance for letting me know!

Cheers,
Welly

Despite the several times that Paypal has messed up my finances, I don't know why I am still a solid Paypal user. Yes, 2checkout is a good alternative. But I also heard from some of my colleagues that Payza offers them just everything that they need. I’m not really sure about what they meant by that, but it sounds great.

It seems Paypal are cleaning up their act a bit. They followed up with a phone call after I sent them an email on the same day which I thought was impressive. Definitely need a backup solution just in case but I'm nowhere near as worried about losing accounts as I used to be! (maybe this just changes once they see money going through?)

For the OP, the most common one I'm seeing these days is 2checkout. That would definitely be my second choice

I prefer Payza as my alternate or backup payment processor but about a year ago something happened with a finance company or bank they were dealing with and they were no longer able to serve US clients. However, about two weeks ago I received an email from them informing me that they are once again serving the US and so I was able to re-activate my account.

Hi Cobaki, would you mind to share how paypal messed up your finances?

I once use alertpay but never use them since they switch to payza. Still using paypal and paypal.

Payza is a great service. I would use that if for some reason I could not use PP anymore. They recently went through a period where they could not serve US clients, but they have recently opened their services back up to US users.

Payza has basically all of the same features as PP. The problem is that it has not become very popular as of yet, but I think it is going to pick up momentum as more and more marketers find out about it. I know that a lot of people who mess around with PTC sites like Clixsense and Neobux use it.

Payzaa I think is a viable alternative.
Honestly, I feel like using paypal is sometimes like going to the loansharks to do business with.
If you're really unlucky, they'll even try to give you an offer "you can't refuse"

    Hi Welly,

1 Question: Does zaxaa has IPN integration?

This is basically valuable when you're selling software / wp plugins etc as we can use that info to create accounts on the server and send the credentials to users.

    Best Regards,

    Diego.

Yes! It is true after November 20, 2013, Google Checkout will no longer be supported. If you process payments using Google Checkout. It will automatically transferred to Google wallet.

i have used authorize.net but found them to be very expensive compared to others. I use usaepay, 2checkout, and paypal for the most part. I used to use square as well but they have a ambiguous morals clause and didn't like some of the transaction titles I sent and they also slow down large payments so pretty much dropped them like a bad habit. I have been looking at AcceptSafe they are a authorize.net reseller so they are cheaper and will work with anything that authorize works with.

Paypal is the best? Not really. Yes, it is very convenient and it is the most popular, but there are a lot of problems that Paypal can give you. I have been using Paypal for years now and I have had major problems for around five to seven times. The only reason why I am still using it now because I am already so used to it.

Aside from Paypal, I am using Payzaa. it is a good option as well. Some even use it as their main payment method. However, for me, Paypal would always be conventional since most people and establishments use Paypal. I got some difficulties finding individuals who accept Payzaa though it is very easy to use.

That is actually hilarious - I know of over a dozen HORROR STORIES with paypal in the last 90 days alone. Heads up...if you sell anything to the Forex/Trading niche stay far away from paypal. I know of several acct shutdowns recently (and holding the funds for 180 DAYS!!!) totally out of the blue with no credible explanations.

How would you like to run a successful email offer campaign and make $20k to $30k and then watch that money get FROZEN with no notice for an INSANE 180 DAY HOLD PERIOD!!! F**CK THAT!

BTW, in the trading and health & fitness niche I do not know of one single case (in the past three years) where the seller recovered a scam chargeback claim....NOT ONE WITH paypal!!!

Buyers GRAB THE DIGITAL CONTENT and then pull a SCAM (product theft) dispute or chargeback within 24 hours of the purchase.

        Puleeeeeeze!

Perhaps you should have read (and understood) Paypal's Acceptable Use Policy before using their services as a payment processor...

Originally Posted by AeroBuilders View Post

        No credible explanation? Really?

There's a link to Legal Agreements at the bottom of the page when you are logged into your Paypal account.

        From Paypal Acceptable Use Policy
        Prohibited Activities

        3. relate to transactions that (a) show the personal information of third parties in violation of applicable law, (b) support pyramid or ponzi schemes, matrix programs, other "get rich quick" schemes or certain multi-level marketing programs, (c) are associated with purchases of annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking or transactions to finance or refinance debts funded by a credit card, (d) are for the sale of certain items before the seller has control or possession of the item, (e) are by payment processors to collect payments on behalf of merchants, (f), are associated with the sale of traveler's checks or money orders, (h) involve currency exchanges or check cashing businesses, or (i) involve certain credit repair, debt settlement services, credit transactions or insurance activities.

I've underlined your "credible explanation". The use of Paypal for currency exchanges (FOREX) or check cashing businesses is prohibited.

Your "rep" with Paypal (as with any payment processor - including your own bank) will govern how they treat you. Ever had funds from a bank deposit held until after the item cleared the bank account of the check writer? Happens all the time.

While it's easy to find people who will tell you that they "heard" about someone's account being frozen or funds being held - third hand reports are just that... third hand (or fourth or fifth). I'm not saying that it doesn't happen. It does.

        But...
that third party has only heard one side of the story. The originator probably thinks (just like you) that there is no "credible explanation" - but it is more likely their own misunderstanding of the situation.

If you have a real, registered business, check out PNC merchant services. They underwrite your account based on your credit, industry, and subjective factors, as well as verifying funds a lot faster.

Banks can do it a lot cheaper because they don't have to artificially increase their prices to absorb the effects of public offers and merchant fraud.

I have run into problems with paypal. I front for a third party call center in India who does online tech support for PC's & mac's . My Corporation is in Montreal Quebec Canada. They are an inbound call center but we had a bad month in July having 8.33% of BV resulting in chargebacks. So now paypal has placed a reserve of 13% plus their 3% fee per transaction. The reserve is on for 6 months pending further review. I have made numerous applications to conventional payment processors & have been turned down for the same reason which is the space of online tech support especially out of India is considered too high risk because of the reputation & because of the volume of chargebacks. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How are pay pal's fees ridiculous? They are very low in my opinion. Sure cheaper than a regular merchant account.

I tried Google few years back when it was Checkout and never again. Two transactions their system said was paid/good, then almost a week later they said they were bad. WTF. Of course the buyer already had their stuff. Maybe they've changed now.

Also, last I heard Wallet doesn't have phone support.
