Need A Membership Script - Which One Will Meet My Needs?

Guys, with so many membership scripts out there, it is really confusing for me! I use DLGuard but unfortunately, it is not powerful enough to handle all my needs. I also use RAP.

I hope you can share with me your experience and which I should consider. Thanks!

Basically, I need a membership script that can handle product downloads. Members can log in to get content, download products and watch videos. The last function is optional which is to allow members to be able to perform functions like article submission, etc. In other words, they will be using a script within a protected and encrypted environment which only allows members to use.

1. Can be integrated with PayPal and Clickbank

2. Easy to install

3. Multiple membership license ie I can use it on unlimited number of membership sites (optional)

4. Protect PHP scripts ie within the protected membership area, users can make use of scripts such as article submission, etc and it is not merely for downloads only (optional)

5. Upon payment, user will be able to create his or her member account. Password will be forwarded to him or her via email.

6. Can be integrated with 3rd party autoresponder system like GetResponse.

7. Email management system ie allows admin to mass mail members and affiliates

8. Affiliate program and management ie has an affiliate program and provides affiliate login area to check sales and obtain affiliate tools (optional)

9. Content dripping ie members can only access content from the time they join and not the content that was there in previous months (optional)

10. In-built support/help desk or forum (optional)

Most of that my membership script offers already without the need of any extrernal services.. But it seems by your post you are wanting a custom coded script if you want members to be able to submit to articles directories and such.

Do you have a budget for a custom coded script ???

For the submission portion, I am just making that as an example. What I meant is, I may develop a script to perform that function, it can be to submit articles, submit videos, perform keyword research etc and I need the membership script to secure the page for me, ie so that only members can use that.

You would need to specify what you mean by scripts, if you are talking about using sites API such as dialymotion has a video uploader you can add to your site then that is not a problem. If you are talking 3rd party open source code scripts then that's a bad idea ...

As for multiple sites, what about unlimited site creation from the admin area and still have only 1 login for members, even if they join 5 sites.

I can offer you 3 times what amember has for 3 times less the cost.. Interested PM me.. I am not going to post details here..

I've bought several membership scripts...and at the end of the day amember seemed to hold the best value and features...as for sites and licensing, consider buying a 'all in one' portal domain for your ventures....such as irocktheparty.com or whatever. Put all of your core offers from this site. This has a benefit of not only saving a few bucks on multiple license purchases, but also (and more importantly) --- branding your business identity.

Thanks! I have heard many good things about Amember but one thing I am not sure is whether it allows you to install the script on unlimited memberships.

Creating an "all in one" membership may work for an ecommerce site but for memberships that have different functions, it may be a bit too stretched. Don't you agree?

aMember, you have to buy a new licence every time for $179.95.
That's really a great script, and you could use it if you could afford it.

Otherwise, if you have butterfly Marketing 2.0 script, that should be good too... . I am using that these days.

With the current scripts on the market yes this would be somewhat hard although amember does offer that possibility... Major draw back with amember is it uses template files (smarty if I remember) with no actual admin controls to create sites on the fly with no need for ftp.

Its not that hard if you are running a proper membership script though. There are many benefits to running a all-in-one system which again includes one login for all sites even if you have 5 sites.

* If a member joins 3 sites and they login then they only have access to those downloads for those 3 sites eventhough you actually have 5 sites.

* Why pay aweber or getresponse fees and be forced to follow their terms when your membership script could email only members, only subscribers, members per site, or email all (yes that is 4 options in one).

* Less expense when it comes to hosting and plus you are branding your main domain name which in itself can be very powerful.

* No need for external services or plugins that may cause a security risk. Not to mention why pay for other plugins

There are many other benefits, this is just a few...

Hi David, Butterfly marketing scrip 2.0 does pretty much all you are asking for. I don't know if it is the easiest solution out there but it is pretty powerful.
If you find a better script please let me know :-)

I bought aMember Pro for $180 2 days back. It was so damn easy to install if you hvae installed other database-based scripts before. The admin panel is not much newbie-friendly. They say that we have to spend atleast 24 hours to know the script. Well yeah, within 24 hours, I integrated my website's design onto aMember. Had a BG problem, but it was fixed.

Butterfly marketing script is much more user-friendly when compared, it uses only 1 file to manage the templates which is awesome! So we need not edit each and every file to put the design. aMember uses about 3 files to do this. I haven't tried BM , if you buy it, please let us know your opinion Will really appreciate it

I should be reviewing Delavo (TM) tomorrow, this is John Delavera's latest script, built on the core of Fantasos.

The Core will be delivered for free.

I have already had a look at the hosted account I have with John's Turbo Membership and can tell you that it is the business.

What I don't have yet is information on the optional plugins that you need.

I have been running Fantasos and Contepass happily for the last two years in tandem to do everything that you describe above (including integration with my forum & helpdesk).

To get the core Delavo, you will have to be quick and sign up to John's list (you can find the link in my sig - time to dream).

There are a few questions I have concerning Delavo.

1. Can this be installed on individual domains? I understand that it is a central management system but once it is installed, must the membership sites/product pages we built be on subdomains only or domains?

2. Also, I am not sure if the installation is going to be complicated.

3. Can it be integrated with Clickbank?

Hi Davion,

1. - you get a 1 license installation on 1 domain.

2. Very unlikely to be complicated - judging by the two previous versions - create a mySQL database set some permissions and run the installation script - 5 minutes.

3. Paypal and Clickbank.

There are different scenarios based on the type of membership chosen - you can host it on the same server, any other server (and any other domain) - these both use Apache .htaccess protection for a complete directory or domain - or the third option of using it with an external membership script (i.e. hooks into Contepass - and I have seen Wordpress and Drupal mentioned).

The core will not handle everything you have outlined - which is why you will need some plugins (from your list - content dripping).

From your description of what you need - Delavo (TM) out of the box cover 80% plus.

Thanks Danny. I guess it can be a standalone script as long as the link is placed within the member area. They can simply click and register for the forum or support outside of the member area as long as the look is the same as my member area.
