afflilate links not allowed

I understand Affiliate links aren't allowed in your signature etc on the forum, so how do I hide my affiliate link. I understand there's software that allows you to do that.

Whether you hide it, cloak it or whatever. It is still considered an affiliate link.

Make your own website about the affiliate product, containing your affiliate link. In the forum sig, link to that.

First decide you're asking for a software or link cloaking script? There is no any "software" to do this. You can use simple solution install wordpress on your website and then install wp plugin "Pretty link pro" free/paid version in it.

      Yes, it's called a ban.
Affiliate links are not allowed here, "hidden" or otherwise.

If you're using Wordpress, there are several options. The best for me that I've found, is Link Cloaker (which is on here as a WSO). It does everything the more marketed plugins do at less than a third of the price they ask. It was a really good find.

Probably not a good idea to do that here.

In general, though, Pretty Link is a Wordpress plugin that, at its most basic, will take a traditional affiliate link and convert it into a link that simply has your URL followed by a few words describing your link.

It looks much more professional than, say, using an affiliate link strait out of commission junction or Amazon.

So, as I see it, you're asking how to break the rules of the this forum, in a thread in the very forum in which you want to break the rules?

    Ha ha, nice one.

Out of interest, are you asking how to create cloaked affiliate links in general or are you asking how to hide affiliate links in your signature?

Are you asking how to make a link say something other than the URL?

For example: like how J Bold's link displayed "[Free] Learn How to Crush Web Traffic with Kenster" instead of displaying the URL "http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/319614-free-warrior-special-offer-crush-free-web-traffic-uncover-dark-traffic-secrets-kenster-six-figure-earner.html"

Is that what you're trying to ask?

If that's the case, highlight whatever word(s) you wish the link to say, click the "Insert Link" icon, and enter the URL.

Just make sure you don't use an affiliate link. :p

Well, you're specifically asking about affiliate links in signatures and how to cloak or hide them in signatures. I suggest that you don't. The mods aren't stupid.

You can: put your offer on your own website and put a link to that site in your signature.

You can't: put an affiliate link or an affiliate template site or a cloaked or hidden affiliate link in your signature or any other sneaky way you can figure out how to get an affiliate link in there.

Doing so can result in being banned or having your signature permanently removed by a mod.

I dont think you even know what cloaking or hiding affiliate link means. Say warrior forum had an affiliate link in host gator, it may look like this hxxp://hostgator.com/?warriorforum. When you hover over the link, it will appear in the bottom left hand corner of your browser. The affiliate link, I have used as an example here is a clean affiliate link. Compare this a clickbank hop link which is pure spammy.

If warrior forum cloaked or hid its hostgator affiliate link, it will look like hxxp://warriorforum.com/hostgator OR hxxp://warriorforum.com/hostgator.html OR hxxp://warriorforum.com/hostgator.php. Meaning it will look like a link from its own domain. People do this to make their links look much more cleaner and less spammy (think clickbank hop links). People will still know it is an affiliate link looking at it. If they didn't know it before they clicked the link, they will know it after they click and find themselves redirected to a website. If you click on the cloaked affiliate link you will still see hxxp://hostgator.com/?warriorforum as the URL. You cant take an affiliate link and trick an informed person that it is not an affiliate link. You definitely aren't going to trick WF admins

    Mike,

What everyone is telling you is that no matter what text you use in your signature, if it leads to an affiliate offer when people click on that link, it is NOT allowed in this forum. No ifs, ands, or buts.

The only way to 'link to' an affiliate offer from your signature is to link to a page on a domain that you own and on that page you then review the product or tell people to click on your affiliate link. The important thing is that any links in your sig only lead people to sites or domains that you own. What you then tell people to do once they land on your site is up to you.

    Hope that helps.

  • I agree that you must create your own website which using WordPress is easy peasy. Another point; why on earth do you even want to throw money away sending people to an affiliate link for a one time sale maybe?

Wouldn't it be far more sensible to create your own website or blog, get people to opt in to your own list instead of handing them over to the vendor's list? Then with a list of your own you could sell to the same people again and again as well as be able to use that URL in your signature? Or do you like throwing away money before having earnt any?

Build your own list from your own website and only then promote your affiliate link by way of a follow up email which gives great free information and a recommended product for those who want faster results or solutions?

Even most super affiliates are now building lists today!

    Why the interest in Spamming?

Even if you found some software that would allow you to do it, I and many other members here would make a concerted effort to have you banned.

I know what you mean. You are asking about registering a domain name and forwarding it to an affiliate site. Probably best to register your own domain and put up a page with your offer and a clickable affiliate link, which you can cloak.

    Cheers

If you are looking to make affiliate sales long-term, it's best to create a squeeze page on the niche where you can sell more products to your own list. It's more profitable that way and you'll be building a proper affiliate business as long as the products can help your list. Or you can build your own blog by taking out a single domain hosting which only cost a few dollars per month.

Lol there was a link in my signature which was redirecting to a higher PR website. The admin removed it and made a snide remark abt my double standards I would like to clarify that it was not an affiliate link. Though should have redirected to some blog instead to avoid confusion

    Hi Mikaedi88,

SunilTunna in post #3, and WillR in post #17 each gave you the correct answer.

You are not allowed to send anyone to an affiliate link directly from the warriorforum. No ifs and or buts.

The only page you may link to from the warriorforum is one you own. Create your own website, at a URL you own, and link to that from the warriorforum. On your own website you can offer affiliate products, and have your affiliate links there.

You can't simply have a domain name and use it to forward to an affiliate link. You must put up a website.

You have been here two and a half years. I am assuming you have learned to build websites by now - especially a Wordpess site. If not, there are people in the warriors-for-hire section who can build a webpage for you.

That would'nt be the greatest Idea on Forums. They are very strict and would most likely ban you. For your forum safety just build your own website and traffic them to your own site.

In my eyes that would be the best option.

There is a related thread 'Is affiliate marketing really dead?' that will give you many reasons why trying to attempt forum suicide is a bad idea.

With a little bit of effort, creating your own unique content promoting the affiliate product, you can have a forum legal link that will enhance your reputation and if all goes well generate income for you.
