Hi guys,

Just want to get some clarifications with regards to the license "creative commons Attribution 3.0 Unported"

Say I obtained a software or files with the above license, am I permit to resell and distribute the software or files without any restriction? Does the above license same as public domain license?

    No, you can't distribute the software without restrictions. Whoever you acquire the software from should provide you a link to the terms of the license.

    Here's an overview of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0) license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/

    Note that you can distribute work that is licensed under these terms (even commercially), and you can even modify the software, but you must distribute the software under those same terms. Also, you must also attribute the work to the author or licensor of the software.
