Which program do you use to track your traffic?

I have started in affiliate marketing and have made a few opt in pages for various products..I want to track the traffic going to these pages.

I am aware of google analytics, but it isn't very user friendly to install.

I have also looked into clicky, which a few IM people are using.

Which programs are you using withe greatest accuracy?

I would try using Piwik. I wouldn't sell anything without it! Throw it up on your server and setup each website through there. It tracks everything. It also has a plugin so you can view all history within each of your WordPress sites too!

It also has a reports function to send you an email each day, week, month on all things that are going with all of your website campaigns...

This thing rocks! Visit it here Piwik.org

    Hope this helps! - Pete

Damn that Piwik looks awesome... it seems just as powerful as Google Analytics but then fully under your own control. Amazing that it is free.

Will need to make some free time to install it and start exploring that. Thanks for sharing!

      To answer TS:
always used Google + statcounter for tracking.

This page is super useful for tracking advertising campaigns (paid or free):

I second your observation SteveSRS. I'm going to test it this week.

I've been using GA, but I've got concerns about Big G and information use.

        Thanks guys.

If you want to trace from where you are getting traffic(in case of organic search), with which keywords, use statcounter.com

I'm not looking for where I get the traffic. I just want some something user friendly and accurate as to how many visitors have hit my landing pages. Does stat counter work for that?

I think that Google Analytics is the best, but you will have to learn it to get familiar with all features, some of which are really precious for optimizing your webs

I use a service called trck.me which is more focused on generating lots of traffic and looking at conversions for splash and squeezepages so I know where to spend my advertising dollars.

No point wasting time and effort on sites where the traffic isn't delivered, or it's just seen by robots as no-one ever clicks through.

Google analytics is great, it also comes with realtime tracking data. You should learn it to master, but the investment is worth doing on the long run.

I really wonder why nobody mentioned about Feedjit: Know when your friends and clients visit you. It is a great traffic counter and tracker too. You will definitely love it.

We use Clicky. My opinion is it is way better than Google Analytics and much simpler. However, I would still have Google Analytics running, otherwise who knows what might happen if you know what I mean.

I have used everything mentioned and of course for me GA is best but not so simple to configure and use. I am surprised no one has mentioned HiStats it has lots of features and is a breeze to use. I use it in conjunction with GA and it is pretty accurate.
      I hope this helps.

I think you should just invest time in learning to use Google Analytics. It is the best free tool out there and Google invests heavily in its technology.

    Adtrackz gold and bit.ly.

I believe tracking 202 is free you just need to do it yourself and has a little bit of a learning curve.

Google analytics does an extremely good job. If you need more granular information then you can look at other 3rd party products.

I use both Google Analytics and Histats for my web traffic tracking but if you need to track squeeze pages I recommend you to use Prosper202. It;s a web based software. Just google => prosper202

I am using Google Analytics and have been for the last 5 years or so. I don't find it to be a pain to use, and if you do I would try to get over it. Their accuracy and the depth of data they provide is incredible. I have yet to find a better service for tracking.

Google analytics is great but if that's a little too complicated for you I guess stat counter would be the best it's pretty user friendly. I use both but im sure you could get by on just stat counter, however i would suggest to pay someone on fiverr or on here to set up your google analytics because it's worth it, just create a profile for them on your site and let them do it

If you're using it on a WP site, I recommend Jetpack. It's easy to install and use. But it's also pretty basic. So if you need more detailed info, it's pretty hard to beat GA.

I use a variety of tracking methods. It depends what you need.

If you're driving traffic primarily from PPC (such as AdWords), your dashboard will provide basic click stats. Sometimes this may be all you need.

However, if you know the fundamentals of PHP programming, it's not difficult to write your own tracking script. The vast majority of the time, this is what I do.

I've also been using web-stat.com for years. It's very simple to use, pretty cheap, and provides a very nice report page.

Finally, Google Analytics -- of course -- is very, very popular.
