Setting a solo ads biz, is it that easy?

Hi all,

I am facinated by the potential of running a solo ads business. However, I find that it's way too simple to set up and maybe I am missing something here.

If you are running a solo ads business, maybe you can point out areas which I may have overlooked?

Setting up a Solo Ads Business

Step 1: Create a free report

Step 2: Create a landing page and give away the free report in exchange of their email address

Step 3: Purchase solo ads from trusted source to populate your list to 1,000

Step 4: Adswap your way to 5,000 subscribers (you can purchase solo simultaneously)

Step 5: Start selling clicks once you reach 5,000 subscribers

That's it?

Is there anything I miss out?

It doesn't have to be difficult. We usually try to over complicate things. The one thing I will say is that the greater your relationship with your list, the greater they will respond to your offers. So if you're selling solos you might think of how to build your relationship to your list AS you're building it up. Then when you offer solos your buyers will love you because they get good results

Another thing you can do either if you're buying or adswaping, when traffic opt-ins, get them to a OTO - One Time Offer..This could be a product you've made, a PLR product which you can sell at low price, or redirect the traffic (once they opt-in of course) to a clickbank product with your affiliate url.

I've made a couple bucks doing this and with that, you can reinvest and buy more solos and get more subscribers.

I tend to sell at low prices, as a beginner myself, it's easier for me to sell products at lower prices, I've gotten better results and the great thing about is that you're not only building up a list of freebie seekers, but a buyers lists.

If you have thousands of leads which obtained from the solo ads, don't sell nor adswap your own list to elsewhere. If I become a subscriber, I don't like my information to be sold. Most people hate their email addresses to be sold and also hate spammed with unsolicited emails.

You can make offers regularly to your own list for making sales or money. And you can build good relationship with your own list for maintain your sustainable business in long term.

THat's not really about selling your email. That is done by spammers who collects emails from the web (with email harvesting tools) and sell them to multiple buyers. When you sell solo ads and accept sponsors to mail for your list, you actually "rent" your list. It's not even renting. You actually advertise other people's offer.

There's no difference between advertising/pre-selling or recommending a solo ad vs. an affiliate product vs. your own item.

      Hope it makes sense?

If you are setting up that kind of business, the main thing that you should keep in mind is to take care of your list. You give them what they are expecting from you and always remember to keep them interested in what you are doing. Keep them updated and try your best not to lose them to others.

This business has been taken to a higher levels . The one who get into this business is not aiming just to build a list through a squeeze , but recapping the the investment immediately or even make a profit while doing this through a high quality sales funnels . I know some one who is doing that so well , that he earn $1.15 for every $1 he spend on traffic on average . Now he is building a list not for free but with a profit , and then he will build his list very fast and will continue doing this for ever because he will return his money every time and reinvest them at once . Then after that one can go to the solos ad business and begin selling within no time >>>>

Great information. Yes, one of the key to success is to build a responsive list. Have to learn how to do it and still send offers often without pissing them off

No it's not hard and I've been doing this quite a lot, it might take you a while to earn the big dollars but it's doable.

    Just remember ...

Send only quality offers, otherwise your going to get many spam complaints and unsubscribes, you don't want that.

Write the email copy yourself, no exception here: You have to communicate with your list in a personal way.

Optimize the funnel to make more as you go.

It requires work but is a relatively predictable business if you do a good job.

Your success depends on the quality of your list. Freebies tend to generate lots of dead weight. Swaps tend to generate lots of dead weight. People will only buy ads from you if your list actually genrtates conversions.

if you have a warroom account there is a report in there by igorhelpsyousucceed about turning solo ad traffic in cash. The warroom is well worth the tiny price you pay to get in there just thot you might like to know that.

Thanks , say that to your self first, besides you should consider reducing your weight first before interning IM and pretending that your are successful and start laughing at people , because your ugly tummy will look much uglier while doing that.

I think you can use your email list to promote your own offer to make moeny, that will be better than sell to make money.

You can try Safe-Swaps. Activate your solo seller module there and start selling. After you become a reputable member you can set your prices higher and higher.

It may 'seem' easy because it's the latest 'thing' right now, but as always, marketing principles apply.
It's a lot like PPC. Don't do your research, you will lose money.

Depends on what you're trying to achieve.

If you're looking to hit $30 a day and stay there,
it shouldn't be difficult by using the strategy you
    outline above.

But if you're looking to build a real income and
a real business with assets such as repeat customers
and clients that can take your income to $10K+ per month,
it's not going to be that easy following this masterplan

imo you need to do more than that. you need to maintain a good relationship with people on your list already. your subscribers will naturally get irritated if you keep sending them click to other people's list only

it is possible.. what you describe can get you to even $100 a day.. but don't put all your eggs in one basket and think you are going to just sell solo ads.. day in and day out and keep making money without staying ahead of the curve...

I have seen the good bad and ugly in the solo ad world.. (been selling traffic in some form or another since 2007) and I can tell you: many solo ad sellers over time (after a year or so sometimes less) end up scrambling around like chickens with their heads cut off.. trying to keep their clicks up due to over-selling.. and being upside down in clicks.. (meaning you sold more clicks than what you can deliver in a timely manner).. this leads to MANY and I mean MANY sellers exporting lists and putting them into other autoresponders.. trading csv files, creating multiple accounts, duplicating lists etc.. just to keep their solo ad business afloat..

and yes, even I have tried stupid stuff like this for a short while..and I am glad I dont anymore.. its no way to make money online.. sure it will make you some cash for a little while.. but eventually.. many solo sellers end up stressed out.. hating sending emails and hating what they are doing..

NO ONE will admit it.. but i will.. and I am here to tell you.. make sure you are generating income other ways before you think you are going to strike it rich by selling solo ads only..

and to everyone exporting, co-regging, putting your lists in more places than one.. come on .. .. stop the stress and stop diluting each others lists...

here's a tip on how to get fresh subs: start a membership site where all your members become instant affiliates and send you traffic in exchange for a commission if they make a sale, run some classifieds in newspapers to get people offline onto YOUR list, pay people to place your follow up email in their autoresponder.. buy banner placements on people's thank you pages, don't just buy solo ads to put the same old people on other people's lists onto your lists..

Technically yes BUT if your list is not cultivated properly then your click through rate will be low. You have to have a large list to email. You can have your list broken down into small ones to get the clicks you need.

What I am trying to say is that you need a quality list where you have a trusted relationship with your subscribers. They need to know that you will not send junk. They need to be active. Then you will get a decent click through rate.

Well, listing it down that way certainly makes it look easy. But almost everyone of those steps listed takes time and you'll certainly need some startup capital. Finding a trusted source to buy solos and to swap with is also not really a walk in the park as there are simply too many low quality providers out there.

A consolation is that you can actually start selling small amounts of clicks even before you have a list size of 5000. This way, you can reinvest what you make back into building the list.

Having said all that, my take is that it's not as simple as you may think it is but it's certainly doable.
