The Realization That I Suck at IM

This is a pseudo-rant inspired by my current level of frustration.

I just realized that I have just spent the last 4.5 hours trying to figure out how to start building an email list. It shouldn't be hard, I've done it before. I've had an Aweber account before. But now, I don't know if I need a squeeze page, sales funnel or whatever. It's all been forgotten because I have no interest in any of this stuff.

My interest is in developing my products and services, not trying to figure out how to make the font a little smaller on my WordPress site.

I have a fully functional website that is getting consistent traffic. That website is the only one of several sites that I currently have online that is getting decent traffic. The site already looks horrible and the thought of adding a squeeze page or opt in box is making me lose sleep. Like fashion, I have no eye for web design.

I'm not good at any of this because I have no interest in any of it. I understand I have to know how to do it to be successful online, but I have no interest or desire to work on my websites.

Again, my passion is the products that I have developed.

Here's what I've realized... I've spent most of my life a a professional driver. Driving cars, trucks, buses, anything with rubber wheels. I'm an excellent driver, I love the work. But I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to change the oil in any of the vehicles I drove. I had no interest or desire to learn.

So I've realized that it's time for me to delegate. Outsource. I've read that in more than few articles. Spend your time on the things you are good at, and delegate (outsource) the rest.

I'm all for this. But I have limited funds right now. I would like to start generating some income from my active site, and invest that money into hiring others to build my online empire.

So, in the meantime, I'm on my own again. Trying to figure out how to change the oil on my WordPress site.

My site is getting decent traffic, with ZERO promotion (see image below). These are active users who are engaging with my content. I would like to start capturing them to an email list.

In addition to the free content on the site, I have created a custom product. I have already created a Fiverr gig for that product. I can also sell variations of the product directly on the site, with special offers to the email list.

So, my sincerest thanks if you are still with me on this rant (I feel a little better already).

I have two questions:

1) Is there a step-by-step guide for setting up an email list (for the frustrated non-mechanic types)?

2) What is the best way to integrate my Fiverr gig onto the site (or is it even necessary)?
