the better business model?

Hello fellow warriors,

which is the better online business model would you say -

While studying and learning from Frank Kern. I gathered that in his niche business/s he used to build a list by giving away something for free
(nothing new there..)
but he wouldn't take leads straight to a sales page. He would just give a free value offer on the front end, cultivate that list, provide value to the list and help them, then promote his paid offer/s to that list and do product launches ect.

Now we all know Frank Kern is a special case with marketing. But is that a better business model then say the regular sales funnel..

While also learning and studying from Alex Jeffreys I found out about sales funnels like:

traffic - free value offer - then to paid product/sales page - to upsell/s and all that good stuff.

Which would you guys who have sales funnels in place or those that have just focused on list building, giving value then promoting stuff, say is the better business model?

1) focus on list building with free value offer - cultivate list and then promote paid offers/ your own products ect?
2) regular sales funnel, while still giving value and selling upfront good value stuff?

I do a list building with sales funnel inside my free offer and I think this is the best business model as you not depends on 3rd party to guarantee your income like Google Adsense or Amazon associate also doesn't need a lot of time and energy to do this

Thanks Andrew. Its becoming more clear that a sales funnel in place is the best way to go over just "list building" and then selling.

I guess I was just confused about "selling" while still "providing value" at the same time. A part of me assumed I couldnt really do both together.

It really depends on your price points, your offers, and your niche.

I generally like doing the list-building approach and only doing sales funnels behind an offer...as opposed to cold leads into a direct sales funnel.

You can build out a value-promo sales funnel that is really a hybrid of both so you are building rapport and automatically dumping people into a sales funnel later.

    Stephen....

This is an older post from the War Room which briefly outlines, from my viewpoint anyway, the BEST internet business model. Nothing new here but there's not many things more profitable than your own list of buyers.

Make sure you have actual examples to build from that are successful right now, especially people like you.

In my honest opinion, marketing has changed since Frank grew to fame. He's an awesome marketer, but he's also well known enough that he doesn't have to work to market things anymore. If the product says "by Frank Kern", people are going to buy it, fairly straightforward.

I recommend a sales funnel with an offer on the end, free trial offers convert pretty well for me. Or free offers that have an upgrade built-in.
