Easiest way to get more traffic to your website

Quick answer: Online Forums.

I never linked to my website from this forum, besides the exceptional post once in a month or so.

Today I added it to my signature and the day isn't even gone and I'm at 50 unique visitors (normally about 10 although it fluctuates quite a bit).

Now you can say, yeah but you already have nearly 5k posts.

But Statcounter shows that 90% comes from the posts where I replied today so even people just starting out can get a good amount of traffic.

I really didn't know it would add up that quickly.

Instead of linking to something specific I just named it very broad: "The SEO Blog" and that's it.

Now when you compare forum posting to something like:

- web2.0's
- slideshare sites
- video sites
- pinterest
- press releases

Then it wins BIG time.

I would have to agree... I love reading all these posts! They are addicting... the hours walk away from me as I just want to read one more... so much value and information to learn! Clearly, a untapped resource in many, many ways!

I get a lot of my referral traffic from forums especially the one I'm on right now. I also get a lot of referral traffic from commenting on blogs in my niche.

Youtube is a great traffic source too. You don't even need to publish videos if you don't like to, there are so many ways. Post interesting stuff to lure people to your channel page, you can have up to ten links on your "about" page, to name just one method.

You're right about the forum posts. You can also implement the same method in FB groups, FB statuses, etc. Just post something of value and put your website in the signature.

Perhaps I should follow or join some Facebook groups indeed.

Lately I was also a bit active at Twitter but didn't get much traffic from it.

And honestly, participating at several IM forums, and Twitter, and Facebook, before you know it you don't even come to working anymore so got to be a bit careful with how to spend the time, days are short.

Yes forums are one of the best way to get quick and targeted traffic. I also get a lot of traffic from uploading Youtube videos too.

Forums are great, especially if you have real value to offer the participants.

From what i learned over the years, If you peak some's interest on a forum they would a chance to know more. Let's assume you wrote a very useful post on here. Many people will end up clicking on your signature file and land on your website. If you do that several times you multiply the amount of people that would come to your site.
Forums are not the only means of doing so however.

You can do the same by writing guest posts to authoritative websites with a great following.
You can provide good content to business owners with a good email list of people who might be interested in what you'e offering.

The more you do it the more often you will get free easy traffic

This is very good advice for anyone just starting out in internet marketing.

With Facebook, Youtube, Pinterest, and SEO now a days forums are usually left out and never really pursued.

The truth is forums have been and still are a very targeted source of traffic. If you provide massive value to the community you will see hundreds of visitors, opt ins, and sales coming you're way

forums seem to be high quality traffic, but reddit is much easier to get traffic than forums.
