I sell SEO, on a monthly base so I get recurring payments.

What other type of products are suitable to get paid for on a monthly base?

    It can be anything, really!

Any kind of ongoing and recurring service is a natural. But many marketers also provide a series of products, reports, images, videos, and various types of coaching instructions.

Any type of project creation can be broken down into logical, sequential steps that fit the recurring payment model.

Get creative and you can charge monthly for almost anything that gives on-going value to the user.

Most informative products that I can think of are things where I want all the information NOW, not waiting till next month till the next piece gets released.

I think most people would agree with me on that.

So with that in mind there's not that much that suits right?

When I sell SEO, it's ongoing cause competition is not sitting still and to do it all at once would be too expensive for most.

When I go to a fitness club I pay each month to make use of their facilities, same applies to swimming pools, sauna's, hair cut, you name it, things that need to happen on regular base or that we like to make use of on regular base.

But online, I don't know, I could think of a content service where people automatically get posted it on monthly base.

Or a back link checking tool that I visit on daily base.

Most would say membership sites, but come on, all info is free available, I would never sign up for a membership site, I would just join some free forums.

So imo a recurring payment needs to be connected to something that provides real use on regular base, not some ebook that comes spread out in x month, or a selection of images with free copyright and hoping it applies to what I'm doing and how unique is it when its available for 100's of subscribers.

Another thing would perhaps be great website themes, but all that I come up with now is related to IM.

What would you do in a niche like let's say weight loss and providing real value and not just some latest diet tips or recipe's (I can't even imagine people would pull their wallet for that type of things).

I can think of a few things like dating or sex sites, but that's to a bit to the extreme.

All that I listed is based on a need that doesn't get provided for free:

      - I need to go to the fitness club to keep my body in shape
      - I need to stay subscribed to a seo service or my competitors will out rank me
      - I need to go to get a hair cut on regular base or I look messed up
      - I need to add content to my website to grow my site out to an authority
      - I need to stay subscribed to a dating site cause my relationships never last long

      - I don't need to subscribe to a weight loss site, I can get it all for free just as easy
      - I don't need to subscribe to an IM coaching site as all the info is within reach
      etc.

Sure you can say I don't need content or SEO, I can write it myself and reach out to webmasters but obvious that requires a lot of time. And you don't need to go to a fitness school as you can buy a treadmill or hometrainer but you know how that thing ends up in a dark corner of the room.

But for all the other things, the free info is just as easy within reach as the paid one.

Isn't reputation management more of a reputation recovery service that needs to get fixed ASAP, and thus less suitable with a monthly approach?

I got a few inquiries before and the people were really pushing to get it done as fast as possible, simply cause their reputation was at stake.

Maybe you mean it more in the broad way of maintaining social accounts and such?

I recently came across a company that sells toothbrushes and oral care goods on subscription. There's also one that does the same with socks if I remember right.

Most stock photo sites sells monthly subscription packages. Press release sites I think do as well. Public relations firms, web maintenance firms, reputation management firms, lawyers, consultants... Lots of things are useful as subscriptions. Not just info.

Great suggestions, that's what I mean indeed, things that are really useful.

Toothbrush is a bit of an odd one though

I was thinking about a website maintenance service where we take care of everything:

      - website design
      - keyword research
      - regular posting
      - ongoing link building

Kind of an all in one service for the lazy marketeer, just wondering if I wouldn't make more money if I would do it all for myself.

Why don't you sell a monthly program teaching others how you exactly sell your SEO monthly? Like a coaching club.

A mentor of mine said you can make good money by just selling stuff but you can make 10X more money by showing others how they can make money.

    Just a thought.

That might be a good idea for some but I wouldn't know how to keep on providing info/value every single month.

I would definitely connect nicely with a reseller program though.

Actually you did give me some idea's, like LEASE A PRIVATE NETWORK, I could advertise it like:

"Want to offer SEO services in a SOLID way but short on cash? Lease a Private Network!"
