which should I learn first: Salesforce or Marketo

Hi, peeps. I am hoping people can help me out. :-( I am an online marketing manager looking for a job. However, my previous employer had old systems, so we did not really use CRM or marketing automation software. :-(

I am planning to learn Salesforce and Marketo. I hope to just buy a seat of each, experiment with them, and watch videos. I cannot afford a 3-day $2,000 class on Salesforce.

Does anyone have suggestions for me? And would you suggest learning Salesforce first, and THEN Marketo?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I am not sure how to go about this...

    Marketo can be used as a stand alone system, so one does not need to be dependant on the other. Many users use Marketo with Microsoft, Netsuite, etc.

    If you are a marketer, I'd go with Marketo first. It's an easy to use tool, that is going to be relevant to your work. If you try to start with Salesforce you'll need to learn far more than marketing functionality.

    I've heard marketo is the go-to one for small businesses, but personally I have no experience with either.

    You can learn complete salesforce at getskillsfast. Marketo is built on salesforce so learning salesforce first is mandatory, Its all walk before you run thing.
    I too have been struggling a lot to learn Salesforce as I did not come from a programming background. I have found people with Java or .net background find it easier to learn but they still require to understand the platform. I even took a course at private Institute but sorry to say didn't helped much. However, luckily I found this course ,
