7 Reasons Why You Are Not Making Money Online

Struggling to make any cash online?

That's becasue you are making some common mistakes. Check out these mistakes that you can easily avoid.

1. You Are Not Treating It Like A Business
If you are trying to make a quick buck, then you will find it tough. You should be treating your efforts like a business. Be professional - set up your site professionally and put a serious effort into making something of value.

2. You Are Not Taking Action
You need to take action - actually do something. Stop reading all the information available to you and actually start producing something.

3. You Have Not Researched Your Target Customer And Have No Idea Who They Are
You need to focus on your target market. This is critical to your success. Your target market is much more likely to buy.

4. You Are Not Leveraging Your Efforts
Leveraging allows you to make more money from the same amount of effort. This is the old principle from McDonalds - "Do You Want Fries With That?"'

5. You Have Bad Spelling
Poor spelling is a sign that you have rushed the process and are not taking it too seriously. As this business is online, everything you do requires you to write. It's not hard to use a spell checker.

6. You Are Not Tracking Where Your Traffic Is Coming From
You should be tracking where your traffic is coming from. You need to know where to focus your efforts otherwise it is just a 'stab in the dark.'

7. You Are Not Generating Traffic Everyday
Getting traffic is essential to your success. You must get targeted traffic - that is, traffic that is looking to buy your product. Don't waste your time on anything else.

ACTION. ACTION. ACTION. That is the numero uno that people don't make money on the internet, or any business. You can buy ever piece of marketing information from Eban Pagen all the way down to Joe Blow, but if you don't do the action required you are not going to generate anything. Period.

I see so many people everyday whine and cry about this and that, and I simply ask them, "What have you done today to produce income." and that stops them in their tracks.

You can't make a ton of money from:

    Writing one article!
    Submitting one video!
Posting that you are going to the store on twitter!
    Posting 1 classified ad.

That is what the majority of people think.

If you don't generate TONS of traffic, you are not going to make money.

Traffic, conversion and tracking are the only things that make money in the online business.

WTF! Well there goes my guru dream LOL.

Seriously though we all know this game is numbers and simple math. The problems come in when the math gets trickier and them variables come into play.

Everything like your landing pages, call to action, copy writing and even quality traffic generation. I think so many people fail at this because of the variables and they're not working at it every day testing and tweaking. Pure and simple just not enough effort until they find a winning formula.

Thanks for this post easy as it's simple and to the point.

Yes, that is where a lot of people drop the ball. Not taking action. Action is what sets things in motion. However a lot of people never focus on this and stay sitting on the sidelines while everyone else is playing the game.

Well not taking action, yes that is a big one, but i think it's really not taking enough action, and keep taking action.

I think step 7 is really apart of step 3, it's not getting traffic, it's getting the right traffic, 7 should be more towards building traffic IMO.

but this is a good list - thanks for sharing!

Not sure that I stopped in my tracks, but definitely gave pause after reading the list to think about what I had done today to generate traffic and money online. Many thanks.

Thanks for the list, very logical that you need all those elements in place to be successful. Alot of people out there are looking for the "set and forget" program that'll make them umpteen billion dollars but sending Joe Blow 4 bucks! Of course, alot of marketers rely on these people to buy their items! The ones who have a clear and set goal and not only know what actions to take, but actually take them, will be consistently successful.

As an upgrade, the other day I wanted to do a little competitive analysis for a simple strategy and I got this site called ecompetitors.com and they are saying a lot of things like, it has got huge data / information on the top 10,000 industries, covering more than 95% of the $57 trillion global economy. They have created an online model of the global economy. Now am I looking big at my business?

    One other tip:

    You are not selling anything?

There's a lot of people who try to "market themselves" and try
to position themselves as a venerable expert when they haven't
had the actual experience on the field.

So, when they do that - they actually delay their money making
    process.

      Not Asking For The Sale

I've seen many a sales page with no call to action. DO NOT leave the prospect hanging and wondering what to do next.

I would like to say that one of the point might be that they are being 'misleaded' by all the various methods of earning money out there.

      My 2 cents.

Action for sure. I'd rather try and fail then to simply think about what I could be making.

The number 4 will be though for me........I almost feel ashamed to ask someone to buy this or that to! I don't like it when someone asks me and I don't like to ask someone to do it but it seems it is a must so I have to learn to get over it!

    Nice list though....thank you!

    Hello

I have fallen into the trap of jumping on a lot of bandwagons and buying stuff that I may use in the future, which causes me to lose focus. (FOCUS = "Follow One Course Until Successful).

One thing that has helped is to ask the question "will I be using this within the next 24 hours?" If not, I have set up a Word document with the heading "possible purchases", and I enter a short description and a link to the URL. That way, I at least have it in my mind that if I do need it in the future, I will be able to go back and find it. It has saved me a lot of money.
