Slideshow videos on Youtube, don't sue me!!!

So, after being to hell and back, I'm alive again :p!

My 'puter' which has both spy and virus protection, got completely shut down. 17 days later it is finally working again. Maybe my question should have been, "HOW CAN I PROTECT MYSELF" and if it is allowed in this forum, maybe we can combine it all...

First question, my offline thinking of a business is to make slide show videos and post it on youtube. I've read so much about copyright and infringement that it scares the pants out of me !

What I mean is the music, and the software (if you are on a limited budget and want to do it all for free (to start with).

I have TONS of other questions too, but I am going to stop here. Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thank you all!

Images ... Use http://sxc.hu for free.

Music, use one of the available music tracks on Youtube itself. They have quite a few.

That option becomes obvious as 'Swap Music' after you have uploaded your video.

    All the best

Only problem with that is the amazon ads that pop up with that stuff...kinda defeats the purpose of putting up the video.

Just go cruise around local garage bands in your area, find a song you like, and offer them $500 and a link to their website to use the cool music in your video (make sure it's original work though, not tribute stuff).

Five hundred bucks? There's a much cheaper way to get safe music.

Just go to iamusic.com or musicbakery.com and listen through their samples till you find a piece that matches the mood of what you're doing. Price - around $35 to $50.

You can download it directly or pay a little more and have them mail you a CD.

For more choices, Google "royalty free music" for dozens more sources.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,

Yeah, but 500 other people will be using the same music in their videos.

This way, you have exclusive rights, and you'll be helping out a starving musician.

You could use animoto to make your slideshow which includes plenty of music tracks to pick from. Also, you might check out the WSO section here - I picked up some royalty free music from there - great stuff!

Thank you all for your suggestions. In regards to animoto, don't you have to pay them too?

I've used Yopo Music for many years, Royalty Free Buyout Production Music Library and have been very happy with the results. They're not free, but they are reasonable.

    One thing though...

When you put your slideshow together, listen for the beat and time the transitions to go with it. You'll get a much better result.

Thank you all for your tips and ideas, greatly appreciated ! Now, if my mom would have let me spend the $$$ to buy that guitar way back in teen years, I could have played and recorded my own by now . Please dear parents, encourage your kids to go for it !
