So once I have my domain/hosting, then what?

So I'm going to purchase a domain from godaddy and get hosting, then where do I start to build my website? I'm just trying to make a squeeze page. I guess I'm mostly confused on what to do after i get the domain..
#domain or hosting

Sounds like you need to choose what kind of site you want to create. Do you want a simple small site or do you want a site that will grow to be large? I personally use Word Press to build all my websites now. There are plenty of plugins to enhance functionality of Word Press sites. There are even plugins to help create squeeze pages but they aren't necessary.

If you choose to build a Word Press site you can install them easily with most cPanels. It's usually a couple of clicks process and then you have a website put up. You can choose from a ton of different themes to get the look you want.

But, the first step after getting your domain and webhosting would be to point your DNS servers at your domain registar to you name servers for your webhost.

Well I planned on making a simple squeeze page to gather an email list, I was going to offer a free report on virus protection. I thought that might be a decent idea for myself since I'm really into computers.

You may want to attach a blog to your squeeze so that you benefit from free Google traffic. Is this what you want, or how do you plan to drive visitors to your page?

Ok, then maybe create a website around that niche and then build a squeeze page on a separate page for the squeeze page and direct traffic there. It's smart to build a site around something you are interested in.

You might want to spend some time researching your chosen niche. If you haven't done this already.

Get a website builder from GoDaddy and create your squeeze page. Then get an autoresponder from Aweber and put the sign up form on your site. Then start driving traffic to your site.
