I am trying to improve my marketing email deliverability as much as I can and I want to see if there is anything else I should do to increase it. I have a MX and SPF record, a reverse DNS, and my IP address and domain is not listed on any blacklists. Is there anything else I could do to improve email deliverability? Thanks.

Are you doing self-hosted email marketing (your own servers and stuff)..... or are you using a 3rd party company to do it for you (Aweber, Getresponse, etc)?

Ask all your customers to white list your email address. Many won't do it, but some will if they want to hear from you.

Thanks, Steve. I was wondering if there is any other mechanical thing I need to do from my end to increase deliverability. I don't necessarily have problems with deliverability. I just want to maximize my ability from my end.

Myself. COX is my ISP. My business email is hosted by GoDaddy. So, I use COX's and GoDaddy's SMTP servers to email.

While you might not be listed on any public blacklists doesn't mean there are not internal flags within the spam filtering system at each ISP you are trying to deliver to.

I don't have any specific experience with this issue but I do have some programming experience and if I was going to write something like this I would be pulling in public blacklist data as well as having my own spam database based on my own user feedback.

You also have no idea about the history of your IP address or the IP Address Blocks that are a part of it (unless you have used it since the dawn of time it is likely that someone had something hosted on it before you).

So I would look in that direction if I was going to really try and increase delivery rates.

Thanks for your response, Brad. Regarding the blacklist issue, I have checked my IP address and domain with various public blacklist sites on the Internet. Are you suggesting that there is different blacklist data that I should check?

You are right, I have no idea the history of my static IP address and I don't have a way to retrieve this info.

I am not saying that my deliverability rate is poor because it is not. I just want to make sure that I have done everything I could from my end that could improve it even more.
