Connecting Your Domain To Hosting - Can A Site Show Up On Google Without Hosting?

Sorry this is such a confusing question but I really have no idea what I have done.

I bought a domain with namecheap and directed it to my hosting acount. I then made a blog using the domain name.

I then added google analytics successfully and waited to see the result.

So far my blog is at Page1 #1 in google (it's not a very competitive word but still) and I have visited the blog myself so I know for sure that the blog has had visits.

The problem is google analytics AND the hosting accound both have no record of any visits and what is even more weird is obviously there hasn't even been any bot or spider activity even though I have done all the necessary things to have that happen.

So my question is, can you have your blog or site indexed in google when you have incorrectly directed the domain to your hosting?

I don't blame anyone for not replying to this

    Hmmmm....... interesting....
The only possibility I can think of is that visits from yourself to your own domain using the same PC is considered as a "non-ëvent". Anyone??

Thanks guys, I know it is a difficult one.

The thing is I don't think it would be possible for my blog to come up on google naturally if it wasn't hosted somewhere surely?

You could be right about the non event thing but I thought I would have had a few bots visiting.

I will contact the host and see what they say.

    Ta,

How long has it been since you added Google Analytics to the blog? It can take time for it to start showing stats (it's usually not real-time as far as I've seen on my own sites).

On another note, I haven't seen bot activity being recorded in my Analytics account. It may be that it's hidden somewhere in the stats but I haven't seen it.

Astaga's point that your own visits are not counted is only valid if you've explicitly added your computer's IP address to Google Analytics as a "filter", that is, not to count it as a visit. From your post, it doesn't seem you've done that.

The same applies to the stats at your host. Let us know what they have to say.
