Promoting membership site with facebook ads?

Hi,

I am promoting a niche membership site with facebook ads. What would be the best way to do this? Should I just create a tab on my fanpage with a brief intro and link telling them to click this link to try my free membership site? I offer a 7 day trial on it. How should I do this? Thanks

Actually the more I think about it I need to build my email list. I need to be able to build a relationship with these people then soft pitch my membership site

    I will suggest you test.

Send advert directly to your membership offer page. See, the conversion.

Send advert to tab on your facebook page and compare result.

Getting people to opt-in on your email list is more about your understanding of what they really want?

Do what you are saying, but implement the Facebook signin tools so they don't have to register. They register using Facebook by hitting a button and authorizing your app, which pulls over the necessary information. This gives your app the ability to interact with them on Facebook as well as over email, which will keep them engaged.

    Hi coreytucker,

There are two things that came to my mind.

    1. Link your Facebook ads to a landing page where you collect the information of your user. However, don't try to sell anything at this point. People are not on Facebook to buy products.

    2. Link your Facebook ads to your membership site directly. Write an appealing ad text! Include the trigger word "free" and a brief description what your membership area is about. People will more likely click on your website in this case :-)

Furthermore, I would play around with the targeting of your ad text and use different pictures. Try to use different demographics and different settings in the "likes and interest" section.

Let me know if you need further advice!

    Patrick

Getting a faceobok user to enter an email address is tough, but getting them to authorize an app (which can read their email address right out of facebook) is easy and most will do it. I dont think that will sync right to aweber, but if you can pull the emails out from the facebook api and add them later you can still get them on your list.

I would send traffic straight to your squeeze page.

Then have a good followup sequence in place that sells them on the membership site.

I also wouldn't give the membership trial for free. I would instead charge $1.
