How do you market to people with no money?

Hey guys,

I've surveyed my list a few times before, and a very common answer is that they don't buy what I offer simply because they don't have money.

I know some people don't have money and are just like that. They will never be customers.

But it got me thinking: Is there then, a market for non-buyers? Is there still a way to market to these guys and make money off them?

At the top of my head, I'm thinking Adsense.

What do you think?

CPA offers. Surveys. Or use them for traffic exchange?

Yes, you get them to visit your website where you have AdSense and relevant content posted that interests them so they click.

Amazing how people who "don't have any money" suddenly have insane buying power (typically on credit) when faced with something that they actually need (translation: "want").

I tend to think a little differently, as a former smoker of cigarettes for over 40 years, smoke free for 2 years now..I now have more cash.

Those that have no money to buy your products, I bet they have money for smokes and booze, or even the illegal green stuff.

What you could do with a bit of imagination, hit them with their emotional fix in your sales letter or email, what's more important (your smokes and/or booze) or financial success..I have seen this approach with some marketers, and if done right, it could well work with some on your list.

Obviously, how you word it is entirely up to you.

Interesting man. I was just thinking about that, like how people don't want to fork out money to buy the stuff they truly need, but spend money on crap.

Do you think this can work on a blog?

If someone says they do not have the money to buy your product it does NOT mean they do not have the money. It simply means they do not want your product badly enough. That is your problem not theirs. That's something you need to fix.

People can ALWAYS find the money if they are desperate for something. I bet if I offered your same list the chance to buy a brand new $40,000 car for just $10,000, many of them would find money very quickly.

Your value proposition is not good enough and thus they don't want to hand over their money. The trick is to get your value proposition as obvious as the one above. If someone can see they are going to receive a lot more value than the money they are investing, they will buy all day long. If they don't see the value then they make up excuses such as the one they have given you.

    It's a value problem -- not a money problem.

Perfectly put Will! When I look at situations like this I feel a statement does not necessarily end at "I don't have money." It actually looks something like this "I don't have money..." and if read between the lines, this is how it would look..."I don't have the money for what you are offering.".

If we look at finding what is that they need badly enough, and then positioning ourselves to help them find "that thing" probably they would spend and we would benefit.

I agree with Will's post, but you also have to think if your target demographics really don't have much money. In that case, even if you apply Will's advice, you will get some sales, but not as many as you would like. It will always feel like you're repairing an old bike and trying to make it work, but it will it keep breaking down, and after a while, it will start to be very frustrating.

I would advise you to first apply Will's post, and if you don't see the results you want, consider giving up and starting in a new niche - there's no shame in that.

Everybody with a internet connection has money to buy things, if they don't have much they are just harder to pursuade.

How do you know that? Do you know there are lots of people in China, for example, who have an internet connection, but many of them don't have a credit card? Or even if they did, the prices in the Western world are too high for their incomes?

"It must be true: I read it in the Warrior Forum".

The reality: there are of course millions of people who have internet connections/access, but no money to buy anything online, not to mention no credit-cards and no PayPal account. This is simply factual.

Since most of the persons on your list say they don't have money
why not pitch some payday loans cpa offers to them?
(I am presuming some of these persons live in the US for these
offers are usually targeting US residents.)

Depending on your niche you could try to sell the leads. Maybe someone is interested in this Group of people. Just find an offer that matches your targeted crowd. I agree with Will to say: Do your research right and they will buy.

If you think this is too hard just switch your niche!

Teach these people that don't buy from you to make them money, and then they will have the money to buy from you.

      i love this.

Reminds of something similar: back in the gold rush times, the ones who got rich were the ones selling shovels

If someone says he does not have money, then it could mean a lot of things. It’s either he doesn’t have money at all, has little money or is still waiting for money to come.

It would be best to give your customers other options instead of letting them pay you straight ahead. You can send them your offers regularly and you can also give them discounts. If you may, you can also allow them to avail of your product or services in an installment basis

    I hope that helps.

What I have found is there are two main groups of people...the ones you have to pull teeth to get to buy something and the ones who buy fairly easily. A lot depends on the market you are targeting.

If your list is in the pull teeth category then you may want to use AdSense as I mentioned above.

Pay Per Lead & Free CPA offers should work as long as it's targeted to your subscribers.

This way you get paid even when they don't buy : )
