Would You Use This To Increase Your Conversions?

Hey everyone,

I'd like to know your thoughts on something.

I'm thinking of creating a script: a count down timer that activates when a person visits your website.

The timer would be for any time limit you choose e.g. 10 minutes or 5 days - whatever.

And when the time is up, the price of your product ACTUALLY increases.

I know there are a lot of fake timers out there used to create scarcity, where nothing actually happens when the time runs out - mine would be different in that the price would actually increase.

Would anyone here be interested in using such a script to increase your conversions?

Let me know your thoughts, questions etc.

Thanks

Matt

So, if you buy now you pay 5 dollars, and if you buy an hour later then you would pay 5.50?

If I trust your site, and you have a brand name, then yes I would buy asap. But how do you build that trust and name?

As Morten said it's a really simple script, and they probably get the same effect wether the timer is real or not.

The timer can be used effectively to make use of the "scarcity principle" and since almost all marketers here use some sort of that principle in their marketing,I'm sure the script will be effective..

I know it's quite simple, but there are a lot of people out there who wouldn't know how to create one.

There was a thread recently here about the use of FALSE scarcity timers and the general concensus was that everyone hates them. This would be different in that you wouldn't be lying to your customers because the price would actually rise.

Thanks for the feedback anyhow... I just wanted to put the idea out there.
