Building Email List In Cat Niche. Whats A Good Freebie To Give The Niche?

Hi,

so basically I am building an email list with facebook ads in the cat niche. I plan on promoting a very low cost cat owner membership site through emailing marketing. I am having trouble figuring out what cat lovers/owners would want as a freebie to sign up for my email list.

Would it be a cat training guide or what? I am just confused about this. I am targeting cat owners and lovers with my main goal of getting them to join my monthly membership site. I have worked very hard on my membership site but wonder how I will get the email sign ups. Any ideas guys? Thanks

Does one really train a cat? (LOL)
How about a PDF-booklet with inspirational cat stories of rescues or how a cat changed someone's life - you can solicit the stories pretty easy and get their permission to use in your booklet by giving them a free copy.

I would say anything written around the care of cats would be a nice fit.

Thanks guys. Yea...I always wondered. Do people really even train their cats? I guess train them not to use the bathroom on the floor or scratch the furniture right? The cat story idea is good but do you think that would really convince them to sign up?

Cats are intrinsically and fundamentally an "enthusiasts' niche" rather than a "problems niche".

I suggest that you keep this at the forefront of your mind in your entire marketing approach to the niche, including in the freebie.

Thanks....do you think I should offer them something that is exciting then rather than solving a problem?

A simple eBook always works. Just write a book about a specific topic regarding cats that you know about.

Get on forums of cat-lovers, see what PROBLEM they are most wanting solved, or ask them what that is, and do your Freebie about that

A friend just bought a couple of kittens. She also has a dog. The first issue she faced was introducing cats to dog and vice-versa making sure they accepted one another. There's a product idea for you right there - integrating cats in to a home with an incumbent canine.

      Corey,

As the owner of a membership site, you will be looked to as the authority. It seems strange that you're asking what your membership wants . . . and you're asking a bunch of marketers that aren't in your niche?

Why don't you ask the people that really matter? Your audience.

Ask your audience what they want.

How do you locate them? That is what niche research is all about.

You should have identified where your marketing for members is going to be focused. That is the same place you can contact them to see what their interests are.

    I agree with Steve B.

Being the owner of the membership site means that people will look to you as the expert on all matters related to it. It seems that doing more research for your niche and giving tidbits of your knowledge in an easily digestible format is a good place to start.
