How Many Freebies is Enough?

Hi,

I just started a blog advertising my services as a freelancer. I'm also working on the creation of two products related to freelancing websites and such. I've also got a few more ideas for products so that in the long run, I'll eventually be able to sell them to my list (I haven't built one yet, but I've got great things planned).

I'm currently trying to grow my list. I know that this is a huge market, and definitely has potential.

So, my question is, how many freebies are enough? One? Two? MORE?

I'm also considering doing monthly contests and such to market to my lists (the prize will be one or more of the eBook guides).

I also want to add a free weekly newsletter to my subscribers that tells them about my clients, my jobs, and the tips I learned that week and the mistakes I made; mistakes that my list can avoid for their personal career.

Both will be the HIGHEST QUALITY ever possible. I won't be compromising on that, for sure.

I know that there isn't any sort of set-in-stone answer, but do you guys have any suggestions? Remember that you're talking to a relatively newb IM!

You have answered your own question. There is no set number of freebies that you ought to consider.

The better question to ask is ... How do I provide as much value as I can to my prospects and subscribers?

If you are a writer, it's easy to come up with added value every time to mail to your subscribers. A freebie doesn't necessarily have to be a stand alone report, book, or training.

A very helpful and thoughtful email can ooze value simply by the things you write. That is as much a freebie in terms of it's effect as is a stand alone!

    Good luck to you,

      Thanks, Steve!
I'm planning to add a weekly newsletter for my subscribers that does NOT promote my products, but rather tells them about my clients, and the things I learned about freelancing that week.

The real answer is based on the value you provide to the marketplace. As you get to know your market better, you will have a much better grasp on what your audience responds to.

Once you know your audience you can craft offers that garner great response, thus requiring fewer offers.

Just be careful .. sometimes too much free trains your subscribers not to buy : (

The key is value, whether it's free or paid stuff

Offer just one freebie on your squeeze page. And that's it, just 1. Then follow up on your leads with good content that relates to the product(s)/service(s) you want to sell, and then lead them to your sales page.

I don't say to give too many freebies, but 1 is just not enough, atleast you should be offering 2-3 freebies, if they are really good and valuable then you can do fine with 2 freebies.
