Do you really want to buy likes? What are you planning to achieve with bought likes? Because you can be sure "likes" are most probably going to be fake (bots or dormant accounts etc) and they will offer zero interaction with your page content.

Never mind that "likes" will never buy anything you are promoting - tell me if you have ever heard of a business that buys customers so that they can come buy from them!

If you had a physical business, lets say, a book store or even a supermarket and you weren't getting any customers, would you go out and paint your shop so that you can get customers to come to your place?

That's what you are trying to do with buying likes. Go figure out why you are not getting any clicks and fix it, and create a real business while you are at it.

I'll not even get started on FB's TOS...

    A couple of cautions...

    1. those purchased likes will start to unlike. Doesn't look cool when your likes drop from 10k to 5k. Then you have to buy more likes.

    2. those likes aren't connected to you, so you still have to build rapport

    3. people will wonder why there is no activity on your page when you have so many who "like" you.

I've seen no. 3 in action. There's a Facebook page [which shall remain nameless] with more than 14k "likes"...and almost no one interacting with it. The few people who do post there are simply posting links to their own Facebook pages or affiliate sites: everything from how to get rid of cellulite to how to get rid of lice. The page looks awful; this is what you get when you purchase likes, and/or if you participate in one of the ubiquitous "if you like my page, I'll like yours back" threads on LinkedIn. You get a bunch of junk likes from fake accounts and spammers.

I found the page when someone else sent me a message about IM, asking me how that page got so many likes, and going on about how he was certain the owner of the page was a millionaire and he wanted to duplicate their "success."

Millionaires are usually public figures which that person you refer to is most like nothing of the sort?

Its pathetic because it serves no purpose and in fact is detrimental. Like sellers prey on inexperienced FB marketers and try to convince them that 'no one will take you seriously if you dont have 50,000 likes', basically they prey on peoples insecurities. Like sellers are the equivalent of those late night 'male enhancement' commercials. They prey on insecurities, they do nothing positive, and in the end there not needed because almost no one cares anyway.

This is the concept behind buying likes (and I´m not saying I agree with it): people jump in boats that are loaded and moving, they never want to be the first ones.

So you buy a couple of hundred likes, then promote, get other people to like, and they do it because others did it before, and what you offer is actually cool. And then even if the original likes are lost, you still have those that came later.

Humans are not necessarily social, but we are gregarious. This is what the service is exploiting.

I don´t think I would use it. But not because it has no value, just because I´m sissy.

Dont buy likes. These are all fake, bot created likes that will do your page no good. Also you can lose your facebook account completely if fb finds out. Start creating friends and use sharing buttons below your post and you will be all fine. Let the likes be natural.

I personally think buying likes is a cool way to attract people to your page because in life if one person starts running in one direction usually everyone else does so if you utilize a specific technique in buying likes like purchase a few invite people to your page. Then get few more than invite people to your page. People could feel compelled to like. I think you could be successful at it why not give it a try you have nothing to lose except maybe $10

  • Tallbloke,

Don 't buy likes especially from Fiverr. I tried that once and went from 25 fans to well over 600 but very soon most of them left and my fans fell to less than 80. I have since built it back up to over 150 and growing steadily by adding great information as sharing useful articles and posts by others.

There are no short cuts to success but to failure that doesn't apply. If you want success then work hard, learn from a mentor, and avoid repeating the mistakes most people make.

Success only comes before work in a dictionary.

I suggest you invest a bit of money and run a Facebook ad to get people to like your new facebook page. Just play with the rules...

I agree! That's a great way to accelerate your "likes" while at the same time attracting people who are actually interested in your stuff. Plus it's completely within FB's TOS.

Another thing you could do is build a list (different topic) and invite them to visit your FB page and like it... Also, invite people over from your twitter account if you have one. And if you haven't, it's about time to set one up and make it grow.

And if you want to buy something from Fiverr, try buying tweets (and track the results carefully to find ones that work) and send those over to your FB page for some sort of gift. Some of them are bound to like your page...

The results probably won't be as overwhelming as you might expect, but it is likely to add a few likes here and there, which will likely attract more likes the natural way...

Use Facebook PPC to get people to like your page instead. You still get likes, but this time from people who are actually interested in what you have to say/offer.

I would not spend any money using Fiverr as I believe these are bots and unused accounts, you are best setting up a campaign on facebook and get natural likes. Donald Wilson has a Facebook product which helps.

Complete waste of money. Points above cover why you shouldn't do this. I understand that you want your page to look busy, and one that already has a lot of fans, but these people are never going to comment on any of your posts. Which means, you now have a lot of fans, but no one is commenting. To me, that's a hell of a lot worse than having no likes in the first place.

Buying likes is never recommended. It costs you enough, moreover the likes are not genuine and no one can guarantee that they will last forever.

I don't recommend buying likes for your FB page. It will be a bunch of ghost likes. Also, the disadvantage of getting so many likes increases your advertising costs if you wanted to run a FB ad in the future.

    where likeminded people network and
like your page mutually.. and its real
people doing so and has good results..

I don't think that buying likes will help your business. I made the mistake of buying likes for one of my fb pages and it went from 700 to 6,000. Did it help? Did I get more sales? Not at all! There was hardly any interaction at all (maybe 2 people liked my photo and that's it). I don't buy likes any more. I don't know what it is you're selling but if it is physical items, I would advertise on swap/ sell pages. That's how I got my 500 likes within a month. It takes time but this way you are getting likes from people who actually like your products. There is also a page Hike Those Likes Marketplace. You can build your likes there as well.

  • DO NOT BUY likes from Fiverr. I purchased 500 likes for $5 and none of my posts reach any users, they are all fake. No point.

This is not an effective strategy as you will soon see.

BTW, This is some thing that FIVerr does not like, being late with your gig.

Hey, watch out for this one.

I think you should be perfectly fine buying a few likes just to get a little bit of social proof

However just do like 100 or so....don't try to spam your fb fan page with 20,000 likes or something, because thats whats going to get you in trouble.

I know for a fact that most of the FB likes you get WON'T be bots.

But, on the same note, they won't be useful to you. Most of them will NEVER ever do anything on your page. You'll end up with a bunch of likes and "nobody talking about this."

Personally, I'm suspicious of those kinds of FB pages.

My advice? No. You're better off marketing and trying to get real likes from people who REALLY do 'like' your fb page and info.
