New to money making - Advice appreciated

Hello everyone, I've just signed up here and I'm interested in a lot of the things here. I have tried making money online in the past. I tried PPD(Pay Per Download) and Affiliate Marketing(Only within a forum though). I know that a lot of you are going to say do your research, but you can't simply know everything straight away no matter how much research you do. Would a mentor of sorts be useful? Any advice on where to go from here would be much appreciated.

On a separate note I have two further questions that I want to know out of interest. Where did you start off? How much are you earning now?

Any help is appreciated!

Something to note: I don't have any investment money.

    Hey There Danyo,

I am a new member myself but definetely not new to Business and Marketing. I will keep it simple and just say: whatever you need now, probably a lot of people need it as well. If you can search for it and can't find it, Create it! That's how online business works

It's hard to just create it though. I don't even have an idea to be honest.

I used to think like that, as much as i love making money without spending money, that is not going to happen. I tried, been there, didnt work out.

I would start from what are you comfortable doing, once you find out, you will think as doing a hobby but get paid. Think about what you like, writing articles? designing website? or just go straight to the shortcut which will need you to invest to some extend.

I have invested and it's come back to bite me. That's why I need to restart. I'm not great at writing articles or anything as far as I know haha.

Take ACTION. That's the only way to learn.

First choose your criteria, for example, do you need free methods, do you want something which can be outsourced and scaled (or are you happy with what is really a "job"), etc.

Then find a method which fits your criteria (the best approach is to join the War Room, because then you get indefinite amounts of free methods), and DO it for real.

There are lots of free IM methods, so pick one which suits you, and do it. Then see your results, learn more, improve, and learn a different method, etc. until you know enough to be making money.

Affiliate marketing can make big money, and need not cost a cent. I get sent money by Amazon every month, for work I did several years ago. It's not that difficult, if you are willing to take action and keep learning.

For example, lots of people create one Squidoo lens, see that it is not making millions, and then give up and try a completely different method, and give up on that too, etc. Most of my Squidoo lenses make a dollar a year each from Squidoo themselves, BUT one lens I created with specific affiliate products, made over $100 in a year, from about 2 hour's work. I learned how to optimize my Tags on a Squidoo lens, I learned how to carefully do backlinking, etc. all of which improved my results.

So, test things, that means learn from your own action. Keep learning. That's all you need to do, and at some point you will know enough to make money.

squidoo lenses, fiverr gigs, and freelance writing are your best bets for true "0 investment" cash online.

Otherwise your own hosting ($5-10 a month) and a domain ($5) are going to be necessary if you really want to get an affiliate marketing or other kind of online business going.

Remember above all else that you must become a student of the game, seek out mentors, and be willing to take imperfect action, screw up, learn, and try a new approach.....over and over and over again until you get a result.

To be perfectly honest, (in my opinion) the best place to start is to go get a used 50 cent copy of "Think and Grow Rich" by Naploeon Hill and read it cover to cover....then do it again.

    Dead serious.

Master what is in that book and you nothing stopping you from succeeding doing this internet marketing stuff.

I have one further question. Where am I going to find people who are truly going to mentor like I mean if there's nothing in it for them, why would they care?

If you would like my advice and experience, follow these steps (my steps)

buy GSA tools (ranker, captcha breaker. indexer)

open a fiverr account, add some gigs, sell stuff anything and everything

now buy some website scripts on either warrior forum or ebay

then use GSA search engine ranker and find some very competitive keywords on google planner (take time to find them, don't rush until you find low comp words)

then submit your websites and fiverr gig with GSA and let it do the work for you

I did this and i was shocked at the results (Gaming websites, game cracks and cheats) is the best niche if you find the right keywords as i did.

plain and simply worked for me

Some weeks i can make upto $500 and other weeks only $100

I will be opening 6 more websites soon and repeating my same method, i want to quit my full time job but i can not do that until i can average atleast $500 a week on a regular bases

it seems the more websites i start and accumulate and thus get traffic to the more i make as time goes by, its just a matter of building and maturing before i can make internet marketing a full time gig.

You can buy the GSA tools here mate:

Search Engine Ranker - fully automated seo backlink builder
SEO Indexer - rapid index websites
Captcha Breaker - solve captchas on your PC

Each tool is a one time costs but trust me its worth every cent.

a friend got me onto GSA and i thank him every day that he did, if you can not afford to buy right now then i suppose you can try and find a cracked version but if you are successful with them buy the tools and support the developer ...he deserves it

    good luck )

  • Hi Dannyo669,

As nobody here is actually answering the question you asked I think I will try without promoting my stuff as some are doing? You say maybe you need a mentor. We say nobody ever got really rich or successful without a mentor period!

Forget all those try this and that and see what works because it looks to me as if that is why you quit last time because you didn't know what to try? A mentor will point you in the right direction and give you the basics. This will be a foundation on where you can start making some progress.

Don't measure your progress on how soon you start making money because making money thinking should never be where you begin. First step is to find a profitable niche which you enjoy getting involved in? If it excites you then your enthusiam will show in your writings even if you are not a great writer?

Next create a squeeze page website with a free gift to tempt sign ups and more free tips in your follow up emails from your autoresponder to build raport and a relationship with those who sign up.

Don't be in a mad rush to sell to your sign ups until they have warmed to you and only then you add a recommended related product which you'd previously purchased and tried yourself. After all, you don't want to sell worthless trash, and why would anyone buy what you didn't think was worth buying yourself?

Do a pros and cons review based on your experiences of using what you want your prospects to buy and sell benefits not features. Tell them what's in it for them? What will it do to make them satisfied with it and so on.

A mentor will show and explain all these things and more and although some charge $1997 or a lot more, we know a very good one who has many thousands of rave reviews and his membership is $37 a month and he is Chris Farrell. He is the best starting point to get you grounded in the basics as voted by IM Report Card website last 3 years including 2013.

Later you can move to more advanced training to make more real money in a year or so if you want to make a lot more? Good luck and whatever you do don't give up because quitters never win and winners never quit.

    Stephen & Jenifer.

Yeah I think you're right. Advice is obviously going to be different from person to person. I'm fed up of the cliché sayings that some people like to post telling me how I'm not trying hard enough. It's a very easy thing to say with no proof of anything.

Where can I get in touch with said Mentor?
Edit: Google's my friend right huehue

Here's the thing, you have to raise some money somehow to get serious about business. I tried doing all the freebie stuff and wasted huge time and ended up nickel and diming myself to death, when if I would have just spent a few hundred in the beginning I would have enjoyed success way quicker and actually saved money in the end! You HAVE to advertise one way or another, it's like telling someone you will drive them to the airport, but then tell them you don't have a car. So, having said all that, do some fiverr gigs, etsy shop sales, whatever you can to raise a few bucks and then join a true money maker and the rest will be history! I promise!

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

    1. Products
    2. Services

    That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

    Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

    1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

    2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

    3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

    Pick just ONE!

    1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

    2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

    3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

    F -- Follow
    O -- One
    C -- Course
    U -- Until
    S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

    Hope this helps!

    Michelle

@dannyo669 - Are you frightened of 'investing' and making a mistake? What is it that's really stopping you? You need to get CLEAR on what you want so that when you see something that aligns with your vision, the next move for you is obvious.

If you have to ask others if it's right for you or not, you're not ready yet.

TAKE MASSIVE ACTION - Decide what you will do and then DO IT! Don't waste time on things that don't bring you money. CREATE VALUE and then make sure people SEE what you create. If you do youtube videos, get people to see those videos with all the free methods you can learn. If you write blog posts, make sure you can get as many people to see those blog posts as possible. If you created good value and you get EYEBALLS to your content you will begin to create a following and as long as you capture leads and follow up, you'll start to earn money. It won't be as fast as paid advertising, but it will come...

Also, if you're not consistent, it won't work. Create something of value DAILY and then get people to see it.
