Default This changes a lot of things... (payment processing)

I just started investigating Amazon's new Amazon Checkout.

Appears like we may have a real alternative to PayPal now -
and it does 1-click upsells... not to mention your visitors
get the emotional security of dealing with Amazon instead
of little ol' you.

I think I'm going to drop my merchant account. There are
various reasons... but among them is the growing sense that
one is no longer necessary to process bigger transactions
that previously would have fired red-flags and perhaps led
to further problems when using providers like PayPal.

Where can I find more information on the Amazon Checkout accounts?

Wow, this is big news, least to me. I still like PP and a atm card, will Amazon do the same ?

Just visit their "sales page"
https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/business?sn=cba/o

In the first half of the year we are supposed to work for the taxman. I think that's a mistake.
Help me to get rid of the taxman ASAP - thanks! (You, too, should make less mistakes!)

For many people this may be a very useful service, although it might be slightly higher in transaction costs for transactions over $10 than paypal is. It certainly gets past the limitation of other alternatives that they 'are not well known' or 'are not trusted'

But you might want to make sure you look at https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/about?nodeId=6023 which is their acceptable use policy for Amazon Payments.

It's intended for physical products, and specifically lists things such as money making opportunities and some other areas as prohibited items.

Just a matter of keeping informed what is and is not allowed I'm sure.

Also only available at the moment to US Amazon, shame! Hope it branches out to other countries soon.
