Is Yahoo Mail's Virus Checker Unreliable?

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to download some attachments from my yahoo email and it says that some of the files have a virus. So I canceled before downloading anything.

Then I tried it again, and this time, the scan says "No Virus."

How would I know which notice is accurate?

I remember in the past trying to deliver scripts to people with Yahoo accounts, and getting false positives for viruses, and then them accusing me of trying to send them a virus.

I rarely use my Yahoo mail and all I get is invites to yahoo groups.

My wife get's a ton of spam on her account. Though never noticed any viruses, yet.
