Another newbie begging for help

I know I know i am sure this must be the most popular question ever: "Where do I start?"
I have narrowed my search to these final 4 products/mentor/program.

DOTCOMSECRETSX (Russell Brunson) *BOUGHT TRIAL*
WEALTHY AFFILIATE (Kyle and Carson) *BOUGHT*
GAZ COOPER (himself)
PROVEN AMAZON COURSE (Jim Cockrum) *BOUGHT*

Basically I want to live online. I want to make my 1st dollar online just to prove to myself that i can. This program has to be honest (you know what i mean).

I have built my first blog site with WA and i am really liking their community.
I have just joined PAC and I like it but I have recently started so i cannot comment. Building an Amazon business in Canada seems different than in the USA.

Now I am thinking of starting with DOTCOMSECRETS. Its low cost and they seem to almost guarantee your 1st 100$.
I don't mind hard work, trust me i can do this 40 hours a week. I think i don't like blogging or maybe i have not found anything interesting to talk about.
I don't mind spending some money to succeed.

    Welcome.

My advice would be to pick one system/method and stick to it.

If you already have bought 2 of these, why do you still need Dotcomsecrets? Just because they make it sound like you will make money?

If you are easily lured by promises of getting rich quick, you are going to spend all your time jumping from one promise to another instead of building a business.

If you don't want to blog what do you want to do? Blogging is writing and almost all web business requires writing or money to outsource it.

    What are you interested in?

    Mark

I agree, focus on one program and work on it! It is a waste of money joining multiple programs for them not to work. I have been there and got the multiple T-Shirts! Also don't be sucked into joining a program that guarantee's cash, unless there is firm, real proof!

WOW thanks Mark. Well basically I want to try it all:

      Blogging
      Review sites
      List building
      Amazon FBA

LOL I sound crazy and lost, well maybe I am. My total investment so far was -150$ so far so I am able to taste these methods and see which one i like the most and then stick with them. Trust me there are a lot of scams that i noticed immediately. WF was a great help so far and that is why i come here.

The IM world is so fascinating.

Well, it took me less then a day to earn my first dollar... and just to prove it I did it again last week by not using any of my traditional methods.

    What I did:

    1) Set up Odesk Profile
    2) Filled out tons of tests to increase the number of jobs I could apply for
    3) Applied for lots of cheap ass writing jobs
    4) Got one - wrote it and got paid (more then a $1)

That is how I would start if you want to prove you can make money online. Then I would have a plan to turn that into a business:

    5) Do a few more cheap jobs until you have a portfolio of work and some good ratings.
    6) Set up a professional looking site that showcases your work (wordpress - cheap and less then 1 days work)
    7) Start applying for more expensive work to build up portfolio of high end work (much easier when you have good ratings and a profile)
    8) Open up profiles on other freelance sites to multiply efforts
    9) Approach local marketing and digital agencies and refer them to your profile site (they always need ad hoc work)
    10) Find some others who are capable and reliable enough to do the writing so you can start outsourcing it...
    11) you now have a business

Can all be achieved within 4 - 6 months and this sector is still growing so room for many more people - you all here are just to lazy to get on with it and want a magic pill - I tell it to you straight because some of y'all need to hear it.

In my opinion - the following is the best way for a newbie to start off right now. This is the super simplified method:

        1. Pick a niche (just 1!)
        2. Make some videos and post on youtube for the niche.
        3. Put a link to a squeeze page under the video - about 10-20 percent of people will click thru - depending on how good the video is and how strong the call to action is.
        4. Set up a simple squeeze page to capture emails - Give something away as an incentive to join your list (you can use plr)
        5. When the person hits "submit" send them to a sales page (like a clickbank product) deliver the freebie in their first email.
        5. Set up an autoresponder sequence to sell products in the niche - (mailchimp is free up to a certain amount of subscribers)

        That's pretty much it.

        Notes:
Use Youtube to drive traffic as there is no guarantee that a blog will get any organic traffic (at least not from google). Look at search results - there is a youtube video in just about every top 10 result these days - google owns youtube so as the old saying goes - if ya can't beat ém join ém.

There is a ton of good youtube training out there that will teach you how to optimize your videos etc - you don't need to pay $197 for the training - I bought a nice simple course for 11 bucks.

A quick warning - I just had 10 youtube accounts banned (about 100 videos gone - poof!) so unless you are a risk taker, make videos that don't violate any of youtubes TOS.

Internet marketing, at it's core is not complicated - the complexity comes when you start to optimize the funnel - like using leadpages for your squeeze pages to raise conversions or switching to getresponse autoresponder so you can better segment your list.

Just start off very simple then add levels of complexity as you learn the ropes (and make money)

You will have to drive ALOT of traffic to make your first sale so don't get frustrated too quickly. Once you get a steady flow of traffic from your videos, you can expand into facebook, tumblr, or even start paying for traffic.

Different things work for different niches.

Inside WA itself (I have a Starter membership) there is a TON of information. It's almost all you need, plus all the great free resources you can find littered all over the Internet.

However, I would HIGHLY recommend a personal mentor who can gear his coaching towards you specifically, one-on-one. To hire somebody who knows what he's doing will cost a pretty penny. But, you said you had money to spend (lucky you!) so go for it!

Test all these methods. Start with either the one which can be tested quickest, or the one which fits what you need most . . . i.e. if you want a business rather than a job, then there is no point learning methods unless they can be upscaled and outsourced. So make sure you are clear on what you are aiming for long-term.

Don't be put off if none of the methods you buy, work in practice. Most IM methods you pay money for, simply do not work, as they are written. This is no problem, because you will learn something from each method, and at some point you will have learned enough things to succeed.

In my experience, Amazon affiliate work can do well, if you do it right. I recommend doing very honest product-reports, summarizing what has been said by real buyers of those products, and giving alternatives and reasons for choosing which alternative etc. I receive money every month from Amazon sites I put up years ago, so it can certainly work.

Whatever you choose, you want something that can grow as you put in more effort into it, something that pays recurring commissions and better still, has a "leverage" and viral element. It must be a real business you can build and retire on. If a program pass these tests, then go for it

Let me suggest that you focus on 2 programs at most.

Many years ago I did the same thing as you but I ended up so scattered that I made very little progress.

Give yourself a strict timeline where you can focus on doing the necessary steps while along the way measuring your results. You will notice that in time that 1 of the 2 will show more significant results.

Then allocate more time on your better performer, building it up since it is working. You may find also that the other method doesn't yield you a good return based on various metrics and so you may then try something else alongside your winner.

Once you start doing 3 or more, your effectiveness goes way WAY down.

    Hey, mikpj.

I recommend you choose one program that interests you the most. This is a good place to get your feet wet in the world of online marketing.

The next step is to work hard at it and stick with it. One big mistake that most internet marketers make is jumping from one program to another. This can zap your enthusiasm. You need to apply yourself and really learn the program and methods involved. Master it - and you may not need to try another program.

    Good luck to you.

Don't fall for the shiney object syndrome. As a past newbie, I bought way too much too quickly and got overwhelmed real fast. I perpetuated getting "ready" and watching countless videos that just took my time. Oh and 40 hours? Maybe more like 80 when you are a new entrepreneur. Anyway, to me, the best place to start is within yourself. Have you taken the time yet to organize you... where you are going, what it will look like, how you will measure progress, and how you'll know when you are there? Too many false starts in business because I got wrapped up in the "biz" of the biz instead of my definite purpose that will focus me for life. Sounds maybe corny, but until you know your why, your how and have discipline in your day, you'll get tired of the shiney objects and look for new ones to occupy your time and frustrate you. Set yourself up for success in your mind first with daily disciplines to believe it, and whatever you choose you will succeed in.

    My advice is this:

The money is in selling your own products and building a list

    But...

Saying that, if you are a complete newbie then focus on affiliate marketing just to get some
experience and start making some money. You could use youtube for this or facebook is also good (both have lots of traffic)

When you get a bit experienced and getting results and making money, create some free info so you can build a list and also create a product

Then go from there, continue to build a list, sell your product, create more products sell those to your customers while at the same time building some rapport

Don't even think about teaching how to make money or get traffic etc unless you know what you are doing yourself and you have got some good results yourself first

My first summer of freshman year in college I spent my whole summer trying to make money online with a system/method similar to the ones you have bought. I did not make a single dollar. It was not until I went on oDesk and became a contractor that I was actually making a living online. In fact, I am now one of the most reputable and highest earning online marketing consultants on oDesk - and I'm still in college! Seriously, I'd recommend going there because you will learn so much, gain experience, and get paid!! Then, go and try your hand at a venture.

What makes you think you need to buy some money-making course or membership? That is your first mistake. They will sell you more and more and more solutions with no real answers. And the next solution will be a list of more solutions.

Look at my previous posts. The answer is there if you get over the "I don't like blogging" part. You think you're going to be successful with that attitude?

    Hi,

If you're just focusing on affiliate marketing first and foremost then you
can always look at using YouTube & F/B marketing.

Creating short concise & to the point 2-5 minute YouTube videos that
give tips & advice always work very well.

Google now owns YouTube and will rank your videos very high up
in their search engine because of course they own the damn thing.

So what you can do is create videos related to I.M. M.M.O giving
tips and advice in under 5 minutes then leave a "Call To Action"
at the end of the video that asks your visitors to Like, Subscribe to
your channel and then click the link below.

This link below could be a link to your affiliate offer or a link to your
    offer(s) etc etc.

You could even point your links back to your landing pages and build a list
off the back of the traffic you get from those videos you've uploaded.

As for F/B if you have a budget to pay for traffic you can always use
their ad feature. You'll need to experiment with this and expect a few
disappointments along the way but once you hit a winner then it has
    all been worth it.

I would recommend you do look at building your own list of email
subscribers once you get a feel of what and how the system(s) work
after you've had some fair experience in affiliate marketing.

You can learn a great deal from well set up sales funnels you promote
as an affiliate and you will do well to take some notes and get some ideas
from the sales funnels you promote.

Anyway hope this helps you in any shape or form.

    Regards
    Gavin

Its definitely a plus that you have a little bit of capital to spend in the beginning.

Having a blog and updating it frequently is definitely a great place to start, because it gives you kind of a "headquarters" online for people to check our your stuff and have an opportunity to connect with you.

However, if you are really going to go after the "make money online" niche, you need to be able to provide real value to people if you expect them to buy from you.

Pick one of the products that you actually have, and make daily bits of content on whats inside it (but don't give away everything) as well as general "mindset" tips.

Give your content a good bit of ambiguity...tell stories, use visual imagery...get people imagining certain situations.... and give bits of strategy here and there.

You have to think outside the box to be able to stand out from the millions of other marketers out there writing boring pitchy articles that people systematically delete from their minds throughout the day.

Get a blog and a lead capture page, build a list through solo ads/banner ads/ect, and send blog posts to your list that is actually valuable...and do that by becoming a more valuable person yourself by studying every day.
