Paid survey are scams, they will not pay you.

My experience with paid surveys isn't very encouraging. Not all of them are scam, but they pay very little and, many times, they tell you that you don't fit the profile, so you cannot complete the survey and get paid, only after you have already invested some time.
In this case, I guess it took you more time to start this thread and check the answers than it would have taken you to complete a survey and see if you get paid or not.

Also not all paid surveys are scam. Companies like Pinecone and valued opinions are legitimate and do pay. But the problem is you will not make a lot of money from surveys.

Paid surveys aren't always a scam. My day job is managing the online survey operation for a multi-national market research company. I am often purchasing $100,000 or more in sample from these companies on a daily basis and the respondents who complete our surveys are paid typically in points from the "survey company" they signed up with.

There are a few reasons people often feel like it is a scam - and there are certainly some scam sites out there as well.

The first is the model survey companies generally use to compensate survey takers. They predominantly use two methods, one is called a revenue breakage model in which a survey taker needs to take several surveys to hit the minimum threshold for a tangible reward. The survey company does count on a fair number not ever hitting that threshold. This is to offset the high cost of acquisition for reliable survey takers.

The second model is generally a sweepstakes "entry" based approach. These almost always don't pay out on an individual level. But both models are specifically designed to discourage "professional" survey takers. That is, people who are ONLY in it for a reward.

The reason is pretty simple, the end clients of these companies want people who have real and relevant opinions. When the reward gets too large, the survey takers get too "positive", that is they start to agree to most statements to maximize the chance of completing the survey. Thus the reward and not the opinion becomes the primary motivator.

The reason people don't fit the profile is pretty simple too. When we conduct research for say XYZ soda company, we might know (and often do know) which of our survey respondents drink that brand. However, our client wants to see penetration in the market so they want a representative sample coming in. To do that accurately you need people to not qualify to find out that among all people ages 18-24 for instance only 15% drink XYZ soda. The really good survey companies usually give you some nominal reward for the attempt and make sure that if you don't qualify its within 1 minute of the start of the survey attempt so that you don't waste a ton of time.

If you "don't fit" the profile after having been in a survey for some time it's usually due to specific, identifiable, suspect behavior. Things like going to quickly through questions, not reading them fully and missing a "trap" question or contradictory responses (a survey might ask your ZIP in the beginning and state in the end, if they don't correlate you get kicked).

At the end of the day, survey's are always supposed to be supplemental income. Nobody wants to pay for professional takers.

Not true the surveys will pay you but most of the websites are just list builders trying to get your information. Make sure you do you homework before you sign up. Look in forums to see what people are saying.

I'd say to try and spend your time one something else. It's really not that rewarding. And you can never be sure it's not a scam.

I have done surveys before. I never made much. Panda is not a good one. My Survey is legit and pretty good. Also Focus Forward- they don't send yo many surveys but I have gotten a few that were for $20 which is really what they should pay. I have tried to do the ones on sites like Treasure Trooper and Swag Bucks but they pay nothing and half the time you spend 20 minutes answering questions and then are suddenly told you no longer qualify so you just worked for 20 minutes for no money. It's not worth it.

As someone who has done paid surveys in the past (when I first got started online), I would tell you not to waste your time. Not only could a lot go wrong and it end up costing you more than you thought, it's not a sustainable business model as the offers never really change. I suggest you focus on building a long-term business by doing something like blogging, ghostwriting, having a membership site, a PLR store or something of that nature.
