Elance & Fiverr together

I am currently posting job on Elance for some graphic design work. Most of offers I receive are in $225 - $250 range. It then occurred to me that there is nothing to stop someone from simply hiring 3 people on fiverr...submit those designs to me and bank over $200 for sitting back. Anyone else think this is going on?

I work in elance full-time and also created some gigs in fiverr.
All I have to say is time = money..!
If you pay better more dedication to your project.
Pay less it will be template or copy past work most of the time.

    Thank You.

if you found few solid reliable people on fiverr you could turn margin in area of 90% on elance. I was laughting at some of prices being paid on elance..like wow. you paid what for $250.

You think $250 is bad? Wait until you see what crony capitalism and government waste can buy you for $100,000. Take a look at this logo:

Of course it goes on. Sub-contracting is massive business. The trick is to find sub-contractors who are good. That's the tough part!

  • Sure there are. But the I have noticed that a lot of the design work on Fiverr is template based. For truly customized designs, I go to Elance.

Yes, a lot of freelancers do that. As long as you get another quality freelancer which is cheaper to do the job for you.

A lot of people do this without bothering about the downside which is poor job and what's the end result; negative feedback and at the end, close of business.

Many of those fiverr design jobs are built from software instead of from scratch instead of real experience and if you are thinking of the disadvantage of using tool for desiring then it's, low concept, less ideas, plagiarism and others.

I would think so, judging by the fact that there are many WSO's sold here teaching people how to do it.

It's called arbitrage. As Alexa Smith wrote above, you can buy WSOs here on the forum that arbitrage up the wazoo. 1) find people who want jobs done who are willing to pay $xxx 2) find people on fiverr who are willing to do the job for $5 3) tell the job seekers that you will do the job for $xxx, while behind the scenes you get the job done on fiverr. 4) ka-ching, pocket the difference.

    Happens all the time.

I think it's common practice for many freelancers to sub-contract their jobs for less money than they receive.

Many people do this, It's a huge success together, you take work from them and pass it to fiverr for cheap and enjoy some cash.

I personally never used Elance to buy graphic designs and I do it all the time on Fiverr!
Once you'll find the right seller you actually don't need any other website to hire freelancers...
Sometimes I'm even surprised how certain Fiverr sellers can charge so little for their work!
Nevertheless I'm using the opportunity while I can

I agree with most people above. I watched a video on Youtube a few days ago by a well known internet marketer (can't remember her name) but she said she knew somebody doing this kind of thing and banking £10,000 a month. I'm in the wrong business..........

....then again after seeing that $100,000 logo I may just hold on for a bit

I started on fiverr less than two months ago and so far I've had tremendous results. In an attempt to promote my fiverr I wound up here on WF. Now, in addition to getting a good burst on fiverr I'm learning so much about ramping up opportunities with freelancer and other options. While I'm a seasoned writer I'm totally new to this style of marketing and business model. After getting my MFA I was at a loss for the traditional beat-the-pavement knock-down-doors approach in this technological age. I know some may not be keen on fiverr for a multitude of reasons and for some concerns I can agree there needs to be an improvement to remain competitive but I can't knock it because it's gotten me this far and now that I'm here my eyes are opened to so many possibilities all of my free time is dedicated to researching more and more. Now, I've learned about freelancer and how people utilize outsourcing to enhance their revenue streams. This isn't my goal as of yet but at least I have a better understanding in which to assess where I stand. Thank you WF and by proxy fiverr. My dream of working from home or while traveling is finally looking like it could be a reality. I wish you all the best in your endeavors and much success.

It sounds a decent idea, but there is lots of competition on sites like Elance so it would be difficult to win the bid when you have no reptuation.

Also, if people are paying in the region of $250 they might want revisions to the work, but the fiverr seller might be unwilling to do so as it's only a $5 gig.

Totally agree, also with Fiverr's extras people now charge a lot more for any extra things that needs to be done which reduces profits in a big way.
