I'm not really familiar with how Google Sites work. I imagine that you have little in the way of on page SEO, which could be problematic.

The bigger problem is that it is a site that you don't own. You can't really establish a long-term business built on a property that someone else owns. They could shut it down, or ban your account on a whim, and you lose everything you have built.

They could be useful tools in your SEO strategy, but I would not trust them as a primary website. Buy domains and hosting and set up sites you actually own.

The best way is to have your own site. Get hosting from a decent company that will not take you too much money and let your business develop. Free hosting may be not reliable enough to support a real business.

Judging by your question alone tells me you've a long way to go and you are in the wrong business model, affiliate marketing. It's one of the most skillful business model around and difficult to penetrate without adequate resources.

Here are a few pointers for affiliate success:

    Good landing page.

Opt in page/email marketing and follow ups.

Targeted traffic from Google either SEO or adword.

YouTube videos and ensure you rank them for various keywords and on YT too.

It depends on what you mean by Google sites - if you're talking about something that Google owns, and you put content on?

Let me put it differently, you want to build a business that someone else owns, but you put in all the effort?

In the same way, with SEO, you have to be very careful with that too, as Google can also
take that away from you if you do something that they consider 'black hat' (not playing by their rules, even if they just changed them) I don't do SEO any more, it takes too long, and is quite time
consuming to continue to play by the rules and get results. Just my personal preference, nothing wrong with SEO at all.

Personally, I like to build lists, or use paid methods, as these typically give you results much quickly.

I know if you're starting out, it can be scary to believe in what you're doing enough to want to put your hard earned money on the line.

You can actually do the list building for free - maybe start for free, then when you see some sales and some money coming in, invest in paid methods to speed things up?
