hey everyone,

I have a question regarding traffic to a website.

a few moths ago I wanted to create a blog about Fibro,
but I never got any further then adding a theme and putting up 1 article.
now i notice the traffic on that blog is slowly increasing , going from 25 uniques a month to over 200 last month.

is there an explanation for this?

i never promoted the blog

thx

Jurrie

I would continue to keep putting up new blog posts each day. And use a more direct line of generating traffic to your blog (ie: promoting it to your email list). That way you can track more easily how and where your blog traffic is coming from.

Folks who have HUGE email lists... this is how they can get 5,000 views a day to their blog just by promoting their new post to their email members.

It sounds like you are picking up some organic traffic from the Search Engines.

Remember Google isn't the only Search Engine in town. Maybe, a Search Engine like Bing has listed your site and you are picking up traffic through them ?

As Randall says, I would continue to add more articles and you could start to build a valuable asset there. Later on you could monetize it and start earning some income from the site.

That's pretty good. Write more articles so you can focus on more keywords and build more traffic. You can also put a few ads on the side, or get email sub and promote a product through it.

haha... everyone is already talking money

I also have the same situation with a blog I created in the health niche. The reason I stopped posting was because of someone who told me I could get arrested for promoting health products without proper legal stuff. So I quit posting after I had 8 posts and the blog has been up for over a year now.

From my stats, the traffic is coming from search engines and 1 forum where someone recommended one of my posts and when I check that page/thread it is now a PR3 so it's a good DoFollow link.

So I think there's a site that is linking to yours or there's not a lot of competition. It's a good sign that it is a good niche to go for and your site will becoming an authority in a short while.

You may be getting a bit of natural organic traffic, about 6 to 7 visitors per day. That's a good start without and promoting of the blog. A good strategy would be to simply add content on a daily basis. This will increase your natural organic traffic flow - and traffic is king. Good luck.
