Since my name is hard to pronounce and to remember, I use ones that are easier.

Well, I always use my own name in my ebook. Buyers would like to know you at least your real name. Using real name also help you to build trust among you and your buyers.

I always thought my name was unique until I got online. Now I know that I share the name with at least two semi-famous people - a classical music composer and a natural foods author. I use 'The John McCabe', for what it's worth.

Since you've admitted to being the senior owner of the name, you could use something like "The Original Kate Whatever" and tell people on your site that you are aware of the other one, but you had it first.

The Senior Owner...lol. Is that a nice way of saying I'm old? j/k I often refer to myself as the *real* or *original* in a joking way. I'm waiting to hear back from my lawyer friend with the famous name.

if you're going with a pen name, I think that you should built up that 'person' in different ways.

It will not be a good thing to post under one name in forums and then having a different name on a product's page
