Best place to sell e-books

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this community, although, I've read some of the posts on here before. I'd like to say this seems like a great and friendly community, so I thought I'd finally register and ask some questions.
I have an e-book for sale and I'd like to hear some suggestions regarding where to sell it and so on.
The e-book is related to making girls horny / getting girls to like you (don't judge me ).
Thanks for your help!

Your ebook topic made me laugh. But I'm not judging, I'm guessing there's a pretty good market for that type of thing.

Amazon is the first place that comes to mind. You can also publish on a site called Smashwords. They focus on indie authors and are free to publish on. The cool thing about Smashwords is your ebook will be available in ALL formats. And you set your own price.

Clickbank is another option, though I don't have much experience with them.

    Hope that helps!

It's okay, I just thought it'd be an interesting topic and that it could possibly sell well. I've never heard of Smashwords, although, I'm looking for a forum, preferably.

You could try selling on ejunkie. It's a huge site and has been around for many years.

Of course, you can set up a Website or a Blog and sell your ebook from there. Just drive traffic to your Blog/site and if your ebook is good enough quality, you will start selling it.

I had a bit of success with Amazon but to maximize Amazon you will limit yourself considerably, you will want to enroll in KDP Select and use the free promo tool. But by doing that you will also commit to not selling anywhere else for at least 90 days.

I think you should consider your resources and your goals. The most money per sale would come from selling it yourself through a self hosted website and not use affiliates. If you have some affiliates already that would be crazy because together you and your affiliates will sell more units although you will get a smaller piece. I'm sure the total rev would be great. Finally, Amazon or Smashwords would probably give you the most exposure but your royalties are much smaller than the other two options.

Some things to consider. Good luck!!

    Here's what I would do..

    1. Spend some time searching keyword tools to find a set of commonly searched terms around men finding/satisfying women

    2. When you have those keywords, search Google for those keywords + discussion forum" which will give you several forums - you can sign up to these and often include your ebook in the signature

    3. Also - you likely want to get this on Clickbank as there are quite a few affiliates that look at CLickbank marketplace for products in this, relationship and dating niches.

If you are an experienced IMer then the best place to sell your ebook is on your site which gives you total control and autonomy.

You should pick a handful of targeted keywords and rank your site for it as well as use blogging, videos and other means to send targeted traffic to your site.

Another option is via Amazon Kindle Select, however, you will need a little push to set your sales on fire.

    Hi,

I am new to the warrior forum. I wanted to purchase a niche e-book and sell it online. Has anyone done this and been successful with it? I know there are a lot of PLR ebooks out there, but I am looking for a good one no one has sold yet. The goal is to have it be good enough that affiliates will want to help market it on clickbank or another site.

I'd say definately start out with Kindle It has been made really easy for newbies to start.
The Kindle forum here on WarriorForum is amazing

Amazon has created a system where they get the traffic to you, you just get them the product.

It's pretty passive income once you get up the rankings.

    Hi,
It really depends entirely on the kinds of eBooks you intend to sell. Generally, there is no match for Kindle. I have dabbled in Smashwords, iBooks etc. and have literally made thousands of times the amount of sales I did there on Kindle Direct Publishing. The benefits of KDP Select far outweighed any benefit of having them on the other eBook stores that did meagre sales and now I sell about 2000 copies of one of my eBooks per month and 2 per day of the other, older one.
    Hope this helps,
    Alex.

Well, you have 2 main choices:

    1. If your book is a regular one, nothing special, and you really like to pay taxes (lol), you should go to Amazon or Smashwords (where you'll have to wait 4 months to get paid, wtf?).
    2. If your book is really cool, you should setup a squeeze page and try to sell it yourself.

In any case, you'll have to do a hefty amount of marketing, not just rely on 3rd party platforms.

    Good luck.

    best place to sell ebooks....
Basically, it's just about the distribution channel ... You can sell ebooks via affiliates, list them on websites like ebays, WF, ebook online store like Amazon, etc.
Or you can sell that directly by advertising it on a related website to your niche.

You can choose which one is for you

I published my first book on Amazon and enrolled it into the KDP select program with great results. I have read about "Amazon KDP Select limiting sales" but it has really worked for me to be honest. I paid for a book cover on Fiverr for $5 so all I really had to do was write the book.

My strategy was to list my book at $0.99 to get started and use my KDP free days to give away copies. You will want to advertise your free days on kindle book promotion websites (do a quick Google search) ahead of time. I even increased my price to around $6.99 or $7.99 during the free days so more people would download it.

After the free promotion, I actually told a bunch of friends and my parents about my book and about 10 people went out of their way to buy it. This helped my book ranking and I started selling around of 50 copies a week. I changed my price to $2.99 for a larger commission and I am currently selling about 60 copies a week with just this one book.

Disclaimer: Only 1 of my books really took off like this. I have written two others and they are not selling as well but I think the whole goal is to make some initial sales, rank higher in the Kindle store, and then make more sales on autopilot. I am currently working on paid advertising options just to make some initial sales of other eBooks and then letting the higher Kindle ranking give me more sales.

    Hopefully everything makes sense.

      Here's what I would do...

Depending on how much material you have, you could go both the Kindle route AND the Clickbank route, plus your own website too.

Just publish a shorter, less comprehensive version on Kindle (but do include lots of great materials so people will be happy and write great reviews). Use some of the strategies mentioned by others above to optimize your Kindle sales.

Then write a special pre-sell report with a few more great tips and set up a squeeze page so you can get people's email addresses in exchange for that short special report.

THEN write a sequel (use any extra material from your current book manuscript plus some of the basics) and publish that for a higher price elsewhere. Possibly Clickbank, or your own website, or JVZoo.

Strategy for making the most of your materials:

Offer your Kindle readers a bonus when they visit your website. They'll find your opt-in page with the special report, you get their email address, and then offer them the bigger sequel on Clickbank (on the thank you page and also in the follow-up autoresponder sequence).

      Speaking of follow-up emails...

Be sure to email them regularly (more tips, some resources, more products, an occasional webinar or teleseminar, etc., and even potential affiliate products that complement your own without directly competing with yours).

You could also add an audio version or a webinar/teleseminar to the bigger version to justify the higher price tag.

And btw, don't be afraid of affiliates. Sure, you have to pay them their cut, but you get to keep part of it too - and you would have never gotten those sales if it weren't for your affiliates.

Plus your affiliates will help you build your list!

Next step - a coaching program!

      Good luck!

    Hi,

If they are decent quality, use Clickbank. If they approve it, you can get an army of affiliates to promote it. However, the way to get the affiliates is to offer between 60% to 75% commissions and offer them lots of promotion tools (banners, videos, premade emails for their list, etc.)
Amazon is a good place to sell your e-book but you need to be aware that there is A LOT of competition for e-books on Amazon and being ranked high on the Kindle store search is not easy.
better you try every channel to sell your e-book.

    These channels could be:
    • ebay.ca
    • livedeal.com
    • kijiji.com
    • MutualBargains.ca
    • tradepoint.ca

You would need to advertise and promote your e-book as much as possible, you can use social networking for that.

    Cheers! Have a nice day

I don't want to discourage you or anything, but have you done at least a basic market research, prior to writing a book like this? Do you know, how many, many, many books are there in this niche? Regardless of the selling point, it's the hardest niche to sell a book. But good luck anyways!

If you are asking I would tell that there are lots of websites where you can sell your product.. But, what is more important is the content in your ebook. If whatever you have mentioned in ebook really works 90% of the time then you will make hell lots of sales. Lets take ClickBank for an example. If people initially like your product it will increase the gravity of your product & attract more & more publishers which will lead to more sales.

So, I insist you to make sure the quality of ur ebook is top quality & does really work.

Just wondering... Is there a reason why you've selected mostly Canadian sites???

And I would assume that the quality is great, or else I would hold off on publishing it and upgrade the quality first.

Absolutely. You've got to make sure it's great, or else you'll get into trouble very quickly.

For starters, the affiliates will be really upset when the product gets lots of refunds. And Clickbank might now kick you out in a hurry too if it does. Even affiliates can get kicked out if the products they promote get more than a very low percentage of refunds!

Just in case anyone hasn't been inside Clickbank for a long time - everyone gets "graded" now by their risk for refunds and chargebacks.

In fact, anything with more than 5% refund rates will find it very challenging to get affiliates.

You mentioned that you were thinking of forums as a place to sell. You may have noticed that Warrior Forum has a massive market for information. So if I were you I would be wondering how I could get this topic for sale on Warrior Forum...

Your topic is not IM (internet marketing) related. BUT...

What if you took your content and sold it as a WSO (warrior special offer) on Warrior Forum with PLR (private label rights) ?

Now you have a product that IMer's would be interested in (if it is quality) because there are MANY people here who run sites relating to dating/relationships.

        Just a thought.
