ok, blog is up, now how much traffic is enough?

I have my blog up and i have been getting about 80 uniques a day. I launched my site on the 17th and have over 450 visitors. I want to know what is a good number. Also, i want to get some google PR. What do i have to do for that? I would also like to know how the blogs on there get searched and indexed by google and how it effects my ranking, if it does.
Help please

It is not about 'how much traffic you get' - but about 'the quality of traffic you get'.

I see you have Adsense on your site. You should put your ads above the fold for better results.

Also, white text on black is hard to read - but this is my opinion.

That theme is really difficult to read. There's never enough traffic.

Maybe it looks different on your screen? On mine it looks great. What difficult about it?

    The blog.

Generally, black text on white background is the best text to have as it is the easiest to read.

The last thing you want is to scare people off the moment they arrive becuase the text is hard to read.

With regards to the ads - that would be a matter of testing the colors - but focus on your blog first then spend time on improving your ads.

Dark gray on white is best. Black on white is a little too high contrast, but white on black glows on LCDs and makes it nearly impossible to read without strain.

Looks like a really nice site. Usually find white on dark difficult to read, but yours is ok. I do agree that adwords above the fold would probably give you a better click through rate.

If you know what you're doing, yeah, just pop open style.css and mess with the colors a bit.

I agree, it is a nice site but I use a lap top computer and it is very blurred and hard to read.

To answer your first question, you need as much targeted traffic as you can get. Not just any old traffic but targeted traffic.

Firefox on a Macbook Pro, but I just tried the Samsung Syncmaster to my right and its still problematic. Consider trying to read 10 pages of content on that.

I use FireFox. But What I get is a White that is too bright for the background. It might just be my eyes, however, back when I went to "school" my computer instructor always claimed that such a negative or reverse color scheme causes eye strain even when it is not readily apparent. Maybe a slightly grayer shade of text would make it better.

All that said, I do want to say that as for the site itself I like the way you have set it up, especialy the color scheme. It is a much more pleasing site from the bright whites that you see every where else. I've been toying with the idea of totally rearranging the colors in my site since they are generic to when I bought into it. You have given me a few ideas.
      Thanks.

I'm using firefox on a laptop and there is a lot of glare when I try to read it.

But when I just look at the page it looks awesome.

I don't know if that makes sense, but the color combo looks great at first glance but when I actually try to read the thing, my eyes hurt from the glare.

Of course, it could be because my eyes are 47 years old. Maybe yours are younger and work better?

I think getting 80 uniques a day after only 5 days is pretty darn good. Where are they coming from?

The more traffic you can get to your blog this will increase your page ranking so will quality backlinks from places targeting your set of keywords. For instance if your blog was about bass fishing you would want quality backlinks from other blogs about bass fishing or any website in general about bass fishing. This will increase your pr. You also need to make sure your page is seo to increase you pr. good luck if you want to know more about seo back links and other things visit SEO | Massive Marketers

Yeah i have been working on he SEO. And started to submit my site to search engines. It all just takes time. Also, I think that my writers have been doing a pretty good job. This blog site is a general, about everything, kind of blog. So that opens up alot more. Even though its not a niche site I think it will do pretty well

Just to add:0... You really need to think of changing the color scheme.

You can easily find the background code in the body class, which is usually one of the first in the css, and just do a find for #ffffff to find the white code and replace with #000000 ... that's a start...

    Remember to backup your work

or better still get another theme
