Building a blog for Amazon affiliates

I have read through a lot of articles on how to earn through affiliate on Amazon. I just have a big question I would like answered.

Should you start a website just on your niche? (say if I want to advertise heaters) should the blog just focus on heaters with a domain similar to the niche market?

or have a broader blog and have niche articles inside the blog?

I ask this because if it is the first, having the niche as the blog name, won't you need like 10-20 blogs to cover the niche markets? (heaters, tv, tables, chairs, etc....)

Or just simply have a website for home and have different categories underneath it?

I would pick a niche and make your site an absolute authority on the topic (and not wholly commercial). Build trust by offering high quality information and your visitors will be more likely to click through from your reviews and purchase.

You should start by researching many markets. Keyword research is a good way to find out if there is many buyers or if people are looking for a product.

Focus on promoting a product which costs a bit too because promoting a product which costs $20-$50 wont bring big commissions.

Hello David, thanks for the reply.

So if I pick a niche say: coffee machine
Shall I build a blog called coffeemachinereview.com (just an example) and have it all about coffee machines?

or build a blog called kitchenstuff.com and blog about other kitchen appliances?

If my opinion, if you can really make a site an authority on a micro niche (which has products with value) you will do better. Like I said above, you need to really give value and the site shouldn't be 100% commercial - so for a coffee machine site you might have articles such as: -

'How to make the perfect cup of coffee with a home coffee machine'
'6 other drinks you can make with a home coffee machine (for non coffee drinkers!)'
'How to make every type of coffee under the sun'

You should of course link to your 'money' pages from these non commercial pages.

Actually... home coffee machines would be not a bad niche!

Haha so the best way would be to have blog posts relating to the products and link to the product reviews which will link to amazon.

that's the technique I have found works best, yes - you are creating something that has real value (the articles have to be top quality). Also, your reviews should be the most detailed available. If you check the link in my sig I go into quite a bit of detail on this method.

The days of building sites around single products, reviewing them, and then ranking in the search engines are numbered so if this is your idea forget about.

Build something people will want to visit over and over again. A site they love to link to and share on social media, interact with, tell their friends about etc.

Not something they'll visit once and then never come back to.

I think this is what I am looking for too. Maybe build a loyal reader list that comes back for my reviews.

The problem with that technique would be that I have to create a lot of separate websites based on the niche...

If I create a website for a broader category and have articles / reviews of different products will it be better off than having multiple micro niche websites?
