Just Installed Wordpress: Should this be happening?

Iv'e stayed in my HTML site comfort zone for way too long, so
finally taking the plunge to use wordpress.

Something doesn't seem right.

Example:

When I go to post, I've got the "Published", "Catagories",
& "Tags" bar floating to the right, and covering my text box.

Should that be happening?

If you have a link it may make it easier to see what the problem is and give you a hand.

This is inside my admin, as I post.

Can't give the link out - it's a niche of mine.

I'm just wondering if there is a bug or something in the latest wordpress version.

        John,
Yes it is a bug inside wordpress.. I know what you are talking about .. It is a browser based bug. In otherwords their coders did not make all that new code fully work with Mozilla like they should have.

Yeah I thought it might be something like that. Even in IE it is doing
the same thing. Very confusing for a new wordpress guy like me.

What do you suggest I do - wait until they fix it or install an older
          version?

Personally I prefer 2.6.5 myself .... It does not have that issue. If it is bothering you then yeah I would install 2.6.5 and wait until they fix the bugs.

Try taking a screen shot and posting it on your sever so that people can see what you are saying. From that it is really hard to determine if something is wrong.

Or you could also make a video question showing us what is going on. Most video making programs allow you to blackout certain things. Although knowing my admin panel you really wouldnt have to black out anything. The video program I use is tip cam but there are many others out there to choose from.

Try changing your screen resolution. If you use a lower resolution to make things bigger and more readable on the screen, you may need to change to a higher one for your WP admin area.
