Going to launch an information site with 50 articles per day but traffic concerns !

Hi

We want to launch an English information site covering some popular niches including News (Political , Sports , ... ) , Entertainment (Celebrity , Fun , ... ) , Relationships (Marital , Sex , Dating , ... ) , LifeStyle ( Family - baby - travel - food ) , Health & Diet , Beauty & Fashion ,Technology.

We are going to post 100 % original content which are not spun content or anything like that and We will have 30 to 50 articles every day.

What I just mentioned is our team capabilities but we are really confused regarding how we can draw considerable traffic to our websites by having such capabilities ? How we would be able to draw 7000 to 10,000 daily unique traffic to our website ?

I would be so grateful if you guys have any suggestion or help for us that lead us to succeed properly.

Without a niche focus, you are describing a business model that will compete with some of the largest, most well-healed news and entertainment sites online. In order to compete you are going to have to have a unique and valuable proposition for your viewers.

    Several important considerations:
    • Provide unique (original) and valuable content every day
    • Position your web site in an original posture so you won't be seen as copying anyone else
    • Get your content syndicated on industry leading web sites
    • Grow a list of valued subscribers
    • Market, market, market what you offer - spend as much time, money, and effort on marketing as you do on creating content

Good luck, you're going to need it with this business model ...

similar websites like your idea, they do media buys, like ppc and banner ads.. That's the way they get the traffic. You can do the same, that alone will solve the traffic problem you have

Publishing content just on your own site really isn't much of a traffic-generating plan at all: the only traffic that can ever bring you is some gradual, eventual, search-engine traffic arising when people put into a search engines keywords from your content ... and even that only when you rank very well for the keywords. (Whether that quality of traffic, when you get it, is valuable to you, is another matter altogether).

You seem to be trying to compensate with quantity for lack of targeting and perhaps quality, really? I wouldn't do it, myself. Please excuse the very negative-sounding observation that it seems to me to be a desperately difficult "business model" (if it's a business model at all), designed to encounter the maximum possible competition for the minimal possible benefit. I don't really understand why anyone would imagine it might "work", or what it's supposed to "do".

Perhaps a different language might be better suited to this project.

You are going to need to spend a ton of money on ads and have some real reason, some very strong reason why people should visit your site and not Yahoo, AOL, EzineArticles, EHow, LiveStrong or any other site like that which is already in existence.

In my experiences, broad news or information websites take a lot of work to get started with traffic. I just do not know if your business model is any different from major news websites. I could easily go on MSN or Yahoo (which I do) instead of your website. I rarely look for new websites like this because there is such an abundance of them.

You need a unique angle or something you focus on. You would be better off picking out one category and minimizing your target market. Write a website JUST about politics or celebrities instead of a news website.

Main takeaway: A large and broad target market does not always equal more website traffic. Sometimes it does, but it will take A LOT of work.

If you have a budget of a million dollars (or more) for very good content and more importantly buying traffic, go for it. I wouldn't invest a million dollars in that model, but if you make it work and you get tens of thousands of loyal readers it just might pay off.

It sounds like you have some resources given your content generation plan. With those resources, you could really jump into a niche and do well. Focus on the highest level of content quality. Invest in a social media campaign (Facebook is my favorite, but YouTube and Pinterest can also work very well). You can also work on getting your excellent content published elsewhere for traffic.

If you can publish 10 high quality articles in one niche that are very interesting (not written for search engines), you can get traffic from social media fairly quickly and get a solid foothold in your niche.

By focusing on a niche, it makes sense to promote relevant products and offer an email newsletter.

Anyway, that's what I would do ... and you sound more fortunate than most since you have resources that can get plenty of content going quickly. As Alexa said, don't confuse quantity with quality. You'll do much better with 5 very well written articles per day than 30 mediocre articles.

Save your time and money this isn't going to be a success unless you've deep pockets and a good marketing strategy.

By covering more topics you don't usually draw in more people you actually scare people away because there's too much non related stuff they're not interested on there.

Focus on ONE niche / topic or to one very specific type of person.

Please one person and cater to them extremely well instead of trying (and failing) to please everyone.

Easiest way to get traffic is to deliver something unique. There are already lots of those niche sites fighting for my attention and I'm not going to bother to read anything unless it's way better or different than the big sites I already spend time on.

Perhaps to get more visitors, you should consider scaling down...even if that seems like that is the very opposite of what you should do. Concentrate on being the best on one of those topics.

Thank you guys for your attention. Unfortunately "thank you" button is not available for me. as it's obvious from the topic I know how hard is to grab PPL's attention at this market. It's really hard and as some of you guys said kind of impossible. We are not going to share all daily content just in our website, some of them will be shared at relevant sites.

social networks are something that I'm sure will really help us but how to grow quickly in our social networks is one of those things my mind is thinking of and also having a good JV will be help but how we can find a good one ?

Again Thank you for your attention and suggestions.
    regards

If you plan to proceed with your multi-niche site and you want to use social media, here's what I would do.

Create a social media platform for each niche. In my experience (Facebook primarily), you get the best engagement with a niche-centric page. If you post about everything under the sun, nobody will care.

I've not set this up on Facebook, but I believe you could create a Facebook page for each niche.

Pinterest would be easier as you could create multiple boards - each targeting your niche.

But it doesn't really end there. Your proposed categories are very broad in themselves. Health really is too broad. You'd want a Pinterest board/Facebook page addressing something specific within health.

As you can see, you'll end up having to create many social media pages - administrating them would require an enormous effort ... all this on top of publishing all that content on your site.

Again, if you have the budget, anything is possible ... but will you generate sufficient return on that investment?

or, you can do stuff like FB event. It works like live events, but you have to allocate some budget to spend for giveaways

    1. How do you want to compete against the big guns in these mainstream niches, who have dedicated marketing teams and a shitload of advertising budget?
    2. Original content is very cool to have, but those big guys have it as well, so content alone won't do much.
    3. If you need to ask here for basic traffic bringing advice, I'd suggest you to do a little learning first, before you enter into the world of trouble.

    But good luck anyways

Publishing original content is not enough. You have to do much more in order to attract people. Advertising is essential here. Ads and a Facebook page may help you.

The unique content is of help. SEO will help as well. But promoting your site is the key. Marketing, Banners, AdWords maybe, forums.

Consider narrowing down to one niche. Otherwise, you'll have to rely almost completely on total SEO - and with the competition, you'll have to spend $$$ on a real SEO team.

50 articles per day - that sounds cool. How are you doing it, are the articles high quality and reader-friendly, and are they optimized?

So if you want me to focus on one niche , which niche you guys think would have more chance to get better exposure and more easily ?

You must have just wrote this as I was responding to you.
considering your budget concerns, you are better off (in my experience) targeting just one of the niches -- such as dating, beauty, MMO.

I would first like to point out, that you should always be ready to invest SOMETHING into your business.
But doing stuff like news or politics is too much of a rediculous option for someone in your shoes, unless you genuinely do have some sort of blueprint and idea about what you want to do.

Even then, I would still hit an easy niche before you set out to "accomplish your dream."
Whats what I did before I opened up my own chop shop.

Again, facebook could be very starter-friendly. Fanpages specifically.

That's been my problem. I started a site for an ebook I wrote three years ago, eventually I began to add subjects and more subjects and it had mushroom into a news site. I now have 24 subjects and has been struggling even to find the funds to hire writers consistently. The site is making nothing, no advertisement, I'm going to go and get a job in order to be able to finance this site. I have to hire a social media manager, writers, editors etc. Can't give up on it now, too much time and money invested.

Working to get my personal credit to par so I can get a business loan. I recently sign up and I don't know If I can mention the name of my site.

Well if you're gonna choose the ladida niches like dating, beauty, weight loss, etc.

What I suggest is that you do a couple of facebook ad compaigns targeting one of your webpages and include social buttons, as well as incentives to press those social buttons.
or, create a fanpage with the intent of gathering cheap likes to it, and use the fanpage as a funneling mechanism to drive traffic to one of your niche webpages.
