Default Question regarding Artisteer

Hey Warriors,

How easy or hard it is to design a WP theme using artisteer for a person who has no design or coding skills?

If anyone has used it please post your experience.

Regards

I use artisteer but I do have design and coding skills. That knowledge may make it a big easier for me but I don't think it would be too hard to pick up since it doesn't involve code. It may take a little while to figure out how to manipulate every little feature, but you can get a good idea about designs right off the bat.

They do allow you to install the software to play around with it first before you buy. I suggest doing that if you are interested.

This is one of my favorite programs. I use it to make themes to match html sites. Lots of goodies easy to use and seems to do ok with seo (I do use an seo plugin).

Check out the free trial

Flexx theme from ithemes.com looks interesting and well flexible.

They have a couple of vids on the site showing its features.

Thesis looks good & everyone raves about it diythemes.com it looks like it might take a little more coding skills.

I also love Artisteer but the current version is designed to create fairly simple 2 or 3 columns themes with or without a header banner so no, you cannot design magazine style themes (unless my understanding of magazine style is different to yours).

As others have said, download the trial and try it out!

Another fan of Artisteer here.

I do not have coding skills (although I am learning each day) and as someone else said, you don't need to have coding skills to use this.

This is the 2nd site I made using Artisteer:

I also have been wondering about Artisteer.

Thanks to everyone who posted their sites. It helps SO MUCH to be able to see some "real world" sites.

I've downloaded a sample copy

And, Quentin, thanks for the video! It really helped me in my decision making process.

Artisteer is really easy to use and you need no coding experience at all.
We use it frequently to create new niche designs and also customer wp websites.

A very simple example, just pages, no blog:

(German language, but you get the visual.)

Artisteer is great! It's very easy to use (watch Quentin's video), you can even 'click' through an endless list (random elements) of suggested (by the software) themes, and never even have to change anything, if you don't want to. They're not all great combinations, but there are many that are very good, and at least a great place to start tweaking.

It's also regularly updated by the developers. I just recently downloaded version 2.1xxxx.

If you've ever bought, or will ever buy a theme, it's well worth the investment. Actually it's even worth it in the amount of time saved that most people (me at least) usually spend looking for free themes.

If you're worried about the money, you can even design a few good themes for sale. You just can't use Artisteer's images (header foreground pic) on the ones that you sell.

Lastly, if you're only using WordPress, the Home and Academic version may suit you well. It's $49.95 versus $129.95 for the Standard version that does Joomla, Drupal, ASP.NET and CodeCharge templates/themes. The Standard version also adds a little more to the colors, textures, glares, gradients, fonts, photo objects etc. options, but I'll wait to upgrade to the Standard version just before the year's free upgrades period is about to expire.

Highly recommended.
