I get sick doing good deeds and getting crap for it.... RANT!

Hey,

Small Rant here...

Lately I have had great business success so I have been helping a lot of people especially a few warriors, a few of them, they know who they are, I have helped with anything from business consulting, free products, to allowing them to pay only 50% of a high end $750 product.

When they were suppose to pay the remaining $375, I hear no word from them, three warriors did this to me... While, I understand taking time to collect the due $375, you could at least respond, only on responded saying they were on vacation and will pay on Monday,

monday came and went....

So, I'm out $1,075 for being a nice guy....

The nice guy does not always finish last

only takes the longer road to help others succeed.

You reap what you sow...and you will surely be
    repaid ten fold over time.

It is discouraging....and sucks....but they will
get what is coming to them.

Burned bridges lead to no where.
and that is where they are headed.

Try to keep you head high bro!

    you will get it back

      Hey Todd,

I agree with Sean on this...well I think the message is pretty much the same all around.

It's called KARMA! It sucks when you do a good deed and get kicked in the sac but unfortunately that's life sometimes.
You know that you did good some deeds and the people that screwed you know their in the wrong.

Keep your chin up, Karma will get them in the long run!

Never Tire of doing good for you will reep what you sow. Thank God for your heart of empathy and desire to help others. Having the open and kind heart that you do is why God has blessed you and can trust you with greater success in the future.

Life's a bitch and then you die.

If your going to do anything altruistic like that then its probably best to give it with the expectation you won't get your money back,

its a bonus when you do.

I agree with what Kim said. You will do MUCH better helping other people if you just assume upfront that you will get absolutely nothing up front. Then when you do, you will be thrilled.

Otherwise I wouldn't even bother really. Just setting yourself up for bile in your gut. Which is no fun...unless you're into that sort of thing.

Send another email asking for payment and seriously consider naming some names (as a cautionary heads up to others) and abruptly change your policy, so there will not be as much risk and no more surprises.

I don't understand "the remaining $375", when you said you allowed them to pay only 50% of a $750 product...

Don't worry about it. If you enjoy helping people (sounds like you do), at the end of the day you'll be happier with yourself by continuing to do what you do.

Yeah, you'll run into some bad apples, but it's worth it when you help those that are truly grateful. I know some people personally that have helped me a great deal, and it's amazing how much crap they get sometimes from other people when they are just trying to help. So I promise you're not alone.

      Todd,

That does stink! Sorry you got taken advantage of, but it will reciprocate back on them at a later time as been mentioned.

Just don't let this experience mess you up. You are a good guy, and I'd hate to see that change because some idiots decided to take advantage of a good situation.

Look at it this way, you didn't lose much compared to what you've gained. You've gained some knowledge about who you can trust, who keeps their word, etc ...

More importantly, you've gained more experience, and that is priceless.

When I help people or give them things to better themselves, I try not to attach strings if you know what I mean. I don't expect from them. Yes, it is appreciated when they do pay me back as promissed, but not necessary.

I just don't bother helping them again ...with anything.

      Jennifer,

      Freebie seekers are dysfunctional. Period.
You are absolutely right! They are disfunctional, and will probably never buy anything on the market. I don't worry about them, I learn from them, grow, and move onto the market that is buying, that wants to learn, etc ...

          Todd,

First thing, give yourself a pat on the back for being a nice guy.

Second please don't like others take away the significance of your contribution to fellow IMeers and Warriors. It's not about what they do
that matters ..it's what you do that counts.

Stand tall and proud and know that you have become a much better and stronger person.

          Cheers

Good job on helping people out. It will come around eventually to you. If you go into helping someone with the idea that you may not get something out of it, you will be much happier about things. I know personally I have helped many people, and in fact a good part of my day was helping others, but it always comes back in the end because they have helped me many times over.

I know it stinks and is discouraging when that happens, but keep a good spirit about it.

I have some special skills on getting your money back! it involves a decade of professional training from the military plus my current job. You would of course have to pay me air fair, car rental, hotel fees, food, alcohol, plus a percentage of what is owed. Oh yeah and gas money!

Your grand total will probably more than what is worth. So on second thought maybe you should go with the Karma thing.

I do agree that good things do come to those who wait. I too like to help others in need. I only give advice though no products. I also think thats why I do what I do (protect and serve). You will get back what is deserved things always have a way of working out. Good Luck!

      Hey Todd,

Sorry to hear this. It sucks! But think about this.

Would you change being a nice guy for $1,075? ...Please say no

The world needs people like you mate. Keep doin' what you're doin! There are cheap ars*es out there that will take advantage of kind generous people, but what would happen if every generous person turned to the dark side for something like this. These things unfortunately happen a lot.

Keep your head up champ and fly the flag! What goes around, comes around.

Integrity is the only thing one ever truly owns. Sounds like you're a proud owner.

      Best

Sounds like letting them pay 50% helped you too. After all, they probably woudnt have purchased. ie You would get nothing.
When they were suppose to pay the remaining $375,
Ooh. You did a payment plan. Aren't you such a nice guy.

Exactly how are you helping people?

Exactly why the rant? So they will see it and pay you?

So, I'm out $1,075 for being a nice guy....
No. You are out money on a business deal gone bad. Not for being a nice guy. You made the deal to make the sale.

PM me your address and I'll send some cheese your way.
