When it is nice outside, sunny, warm, I find it so hard to make myself sit down and do keyword research, product development, etc. Does anyone else have this problem? If you've had this problem and over come it care to share with us how we can better focus in the summer months? |

Really depends where you live. I definitely DON'T want to spend the summer outside... It's simply too hot. Tyrus |

Never thought of that Tyrus. I live in West Virginia, fairly cold winters, chilly spring, semi hot summer, nice fall. So, from about May-September I struggle to stay seated in front of a computer. I guess I should try to make enough $$ that I don't have to work those months of the year as hard, huh?

It's can be hard. Especially when you have 3 kids running around asking to go outside every 10 minutes, and a neighbor kid ringing the doorbell 10-15 times per day. I work till 4pm and we go outside when I'm done. That gives us a good 5-6 hours outside...plenty of time. |

It helped me to first define what I wanted as a result of my efforts. I had to have dreams, plans and goals that inspired me. They had to be within reach of my faith; meaning that I had to believe in them. No since in having a goal I'm going to make $50,000 in the next month if deep inside I don't believe it. Set realistic, but achievable goals that make you stretch, because if your goals don't inspire you, what happens when you face certain roadblocks, fear and doubt? Since I defined to myself what I want to accomplish by having goals that FIRE ME UP, I have a passion that keeps me going, because some day I'll achieve those goals one at time, one step at a time, one day at a time! It gets to be the point where if I'm out somewhere doing something and I know I should be doing my Internet Marketing instead, a large guilt will overcome me. I've learn to keep my eyes on the prize and to make it all even easier, I really enjoy learning Internet Marketing because I'm working hard at it and it's all starting to fall into place for me. Manage your time by allowing yourself some free time too. If not, you may reach slight burn out and that's not good. However, if you have established burning plans, goals and dreams, these will help keep you FIRED UP and prevent any lulls in developing your business. LastWarrior |

I think part of my problem is that I've really only started to make money in the last month or so. It's certainly not enough to live on so I still have a 9 to 5er (which I also do from home). I also have an 11 year old who is very active. So, I'm having a hard time finding a balance between everything. LastWarrior-agreed, I have to set goals and figure out what is demanded of me to achieve those goals. Thanks for the pep talk to get me re-focused! |

I like to take advantage and actually work outside with my laptop. So, the nice weather really doesn't cramp my work time.

I have some of my most profitable months during the summer because many marketers take off and I'm still out there doing my thing. As for motivation...don't have an answer for that. If it's important enough for you to do it, you'll do it. |

I purposely work in a dark room and it also helps if you dont have any windows in your room so you dont look outside every so often.

It's easy to find an excuse not to get stuck in at almost any time of the year. - It's the school holidays - It's not the school holidays - It's too warm - It's too cold - It's Christmas - It's summer - It's the best selling time - It's not the best selling time In IM, it's probably true to say that the best selling time is from the end of the summer onwards, although there is obviously loads that an individual business can do to mitigate the effect of that, entirely if you wish because it's a big old world of 6 billion people out there. You can also use the 2-3 summer months to get your ducks in line for the main selling season. That's EXACTLY what I'm doing for something major that will launch in September, but I'm giving myself plenty of time so that there's also time to enjoy the good weather, time with family, vacation abroad etc. Cheers, Neil |

I find myself outsourcing MUCH more in the summer months.. As the UK has warmed up a little here, I have found that 2 or 3 hours a week of solid work is all I want to do. Keeping profits high and blogs/sites updated is important, so I pay for more content and increase my adspend.. It's a good thing to enjoy the sun, it makes me feel great... Peace Jay |

personally I like the summer so its hard bu if you are the type of person that can stay focused it shouldn't be a problem. Also I agree it depends on where you live some people have rainy summers where there are those who have heat blistering summers.
