How to promotion wedding online store?

by natlia

Not so long ago, I embarked on creating bridal silk floral hair accessories. I also create silk accessories for wedding dresses and other clothing.
My online store is 2 month age. I don't have traffic to my site .
Maybe somebody recommend me, how to promotion wedding online store?

Thank you!

Do you have any content on your store, other than product listings? You need something like a blog that will help search engines find your site. If you write wedding-related blog posts, you'd attract the kind of visitors that will be more likely to buy from you. Plus, with blog posts you will gain some authority and trust, which will make it easier for visitors to decide to buy from you.

You should also look into marketing your site through Adwords or Facebook.

Make sure that if you use these two methods you set a daily budget, otherwise you may get a real shock! Also start small as a test and track everything. You cannot make good business decision without solid data.

Are you wanting to receive traffic from the search engines? If so, have you checked on the keyword phrases that you are targeting and have you optimized your site for those keywords? You'll also need to do some backlinking. I notice you are listed in thefind. Are you also in Google Base? If not, upload your products to them as well. And another thing. You appear to have an affiliate program. That should help with your traffic if any affiliates have signed on...

When setting up a blog or descriptive pages or any kind of content on your site, make sure you use keyword research, adding the keywords that people will be most interested in looking up on search engines when they search for an online store like yours.

Try using longer, more descriptive keywords first - for example "silk floral wedding hair accessories" - to target specific areas of your trade, since they are less competitive than general ones such as "wedding accessories".

Writing a blog or informative articles on your site is the way to go. You see many different companies and brands that build up a blog so that anyone interested in their field will come across their blog and from there be directed to their website.
The trick is to create a quality blog and then promote your blog through social media like facebook or twitter. If writing isn't your strong point you should probably hire a content writer to include all the important keywords within the article, because that is how people find your article. There is a worldwide directory of content writers at http://contentmaster.net/ which I find very helpful.

Whatever you do... use Pinterest! The wedding niche is one of their top 3 niches where people buy.

I'd also recommend setting up on Ebay and Etsy. You'll get eyeballs.

It helps to have a respected, established platform like Etsy for product sales that already has a built in customer base for almost every niche. And, considering how the product here is handmade bridal accessories, the Etsy idea would be the perfect fit. You could take it one step further by pinning photos from the Etsy wedding accessory store to Pinterest and publishing on Instagram and even updating Facebook wedding/bridal groups with new items from the Etsy store.

There are really only three ways to increase you online presence:

      1) Increase a website's/blog's search engine through SEO methods to bring more traffic in - slow to achieve results though, and often immensely frustrating as the search engines change their ranking algorithms to your disadvantage and your profits take a nose dive.

      2) Take up some of the, so called, free methods (Google+, Facebook, Articles - and there are many others). Very slow and time consuming to bring in significant profits though. Very frustrating for most who go down this route though

      3) Buy targeted buyer traffic and drive it to your website - faster, and in my experience more effective. You have full control, can get it running in less than 24 hours, and you can scale it up quickly any time you want.

Which one you settle on will be determined by the monthly advertising budget you have to invest. Note however that the SEO, and 'Free' route are NOT free, you will have to pay someone to do it, or invest a lot of your valuable, and irreplaceable time to do it yourself.

Hi natlia welcome to the Warrior Forum

Some good advice posted above.. and some not so good

So are you totally confused yet lol

Online marketing for an ecommerce store like yours and getting traffic that will buy your products will take a lot of time, testing and tweaking on your part.

Building the products and website was the easy part.

Getting paying customers in the HUGE online world won't be easy.

The first thing I noticed about your site is your contact us page:

    Address:
    Custom Bridal Accessories by Natalie
    Country - USA, Maryland

No phone number or email address?

Nobody in their right mind is going to send their credit card info to Natalie in Maryland

You have to present yourself as a real bushiness that can be trusted with their money and personal information.

A real physical address, professional email address and preferably a toll free number for customer support.

Fix that before you even think about sending traffic to your website.

I like your site and your products.

I believe you can make it work but one step at a time.

Good luck and keep coming back here to ask questions .... you'll get there eventually

    Dave

The only way to get rankings is to get content on your site.

You can either set up separate blogs that send traffic to your products (this'll act as referral traffic) or create a blog on your site and do the same.

If your niche has low competition keywords (which I'm assuming it does, at least in your city), a couple of social media links can get your site ranking. If not, you'll have to build more links.

You can also use Google adwords to get fast traffic, though you'll have to pay per click with them. The same goes for Facebook ads.

Pinterest can work good too, if the audience there are interested in what you're offering (which they might, since they're mostly women).

I see the OP hasn't returned, but I want to thank you all for the posts. My Creative Personalized Keepsakes site is primarily wedding related too and right now I'm on a 31-day content creation challenge with myself with my blog.

If the OP happens to come back, here are some other suggestions from other wedding-related blogs I've visited.

      1. Use LARGE photos in the blog posts
      2. Use the Featured Photo option on WordPress
      3. PINTEREST - pin every single blog post to Pinterest with your featured photo
      4. Use long-tail, relevant keywords
      5. Get mentioned on some high-traffic, wedding-related blogs and sites.
      6. Do a blog post Every Single Day.

The wedding industry might seem saturated, and it IS highly, highly competitive. But if you have a passion for all things wedding related, you can still make some money with it, it just might take a little while - so patience is definitely a virtue in this industry.

Couldn't agree anymore with the folks here mentioning Pinterest. Since your in that specific niche, your images will do exceedingly well on there.

If you're going to go the Pinterest route, I would recommend some of these tips:

      Just "Like" many pins.

Like pins and the images which are on the pins. Probably the simplest thing you can do on Pinterest. Follow certain people, not many, and get the pins or repins they do on your Pinterest wall.

Go to other users and start liking about five or so "Pins" really fast, and see them react to it. Many times, they just might follow you and get "one" more follower to your number.

Nothing of this should take long. Just like "five" or so pins from a new user, and "like" as many pins from the people you are following. That takes about "5-10″ minutes. That's it.

You will see some great results just doing this simple tactic.

      "Repin" as much as "Liking".

Repinning should be used very extensively as well. But repin only from the users that you are following since you are following them for the content they are presenting. Only follow users if you do indeed like what they pin and repin.

Repinning shows more appreciation than just "liking" and you grab more attention by doing that. Make sure your profile has all the boards created, and repin the images that you really like or think that will help your profile look better.

Have many boards set up, and repin them back to the boards. The "repinning" should go along the liking you will be doing. When you have finished doing the liking, save another 5 or ten minutes to "repin" more pins to your collections.

Don't get carried away with this part of the interaction. It can truly distract yourself, and time will not be on your mind. Have a purpose and go get it done with the correct amount of time.

These two, are probably the most "powerful" features of Pinterest to gain on. These are the "bread and butter" of Pinterest, and how it functions to the core.

I really need to spend some time learning more about Pinterest than just pinning my own stuff to my board and nothing else.

I'd love to get to the point where I can hire a VA to do all this promotion stuff for me while I concentrate on just writing. That would make me very, very happy.

You are not kidding! It's a monster JUNGLE out there!

I mean, I have the Jetpack Publicize set up that's "supposed" to post to a few social media sites as soon as I hit Publish. Sometimes it doesn't work across all the sites, though.

So I have a kind of ritual with my blog posts.
            1. Hit Publish
            2. Share to my FB fan page if it didn't post there
            3. Share to Google+
            4. Share to StumbleUpon
            5. Pin It
            6. Submit to ezinearticles.com (that's the only place I still use)

And if I'm feeling up to it (damned medical conditions ) I'll go through some FB wedding groups and share the content there too.

Then I'm ready for a freaking nap!

Any visual medium such as Instagram and Pinterest are good for illustrating and showing your product line. Be sure to pin not only dresses from your store, but wedding related photos that might help a potential bride plan her wedding better. Another idea is to use wedding forums to generate interest for your online store as many brides will be visiting forums looking for advice and ideas on the perfect wedding.

Natlia I suggest you to be a part of blogs and associate with people related to your niche. Have a blog on your website comment on others be listed in local B2B directories, socialize yourself and your website on social media platforms. Engage well on time and most importantly make sure your website has a clean and tidy look yet attractive. As you have a wedding website its important to have good pictures and original ones. Share them on Instagram and Pinterest. Be a part of Wedding forums and contribute there.

And, don't forget about Youtube and Google+ hang outs. You could create webinars for brides, giving tips for wedding planning, outfit selection, etc. You might host the webinar yourself or hire a guest speaker to give tips during the event. You would also be advertising your store during the event so as to generate interest. Then you could archive your video and taht would get traffic from both Google+ and Youtube viewers.

If you have a real attractive images about your product (closeups, high definition pictures, examples in a couple weddings like brides and such... then Pinterest its the place to be.

My wife has a couple Wedding decoration items there and i have found board with more then 1 million followers so this Niche its really HOT out there.

But you also need to have an authority website about your services with videos, great information , articles (not the crappy ones, its better to have 4 or 5 with an awesome content then 20 or 30 with crap)

The design of the website will sell also, so a very attractive website will do the work, get a premium Wordpress theme in the weddings niche and work on it.

What the other warrior told you its also true so try to go on that path too, if you are a one man or woman show, then its better to make a good planning or else you will be lost in multiple direction, define milestones, one step at a time...

    Good Luck!

Well, there has been allot of discussion on the subject, so I am pretty sure what I am about to say won't be new. LOL

Definitely get a pinterest account going. It's one of the easiest ways for you to get your product out there. Plus you can always link it back to your site.

Don't forget, Facebook now has facebook stores people can run. People might not buy something, but they can share it with other people etc. and the word can really get out.

The traffic is always the hardest work :-) there are two things: have the time or the money.

Now I'll explain: to get traffic to your blog, you have to work a lot, you have to write quality articles, but in the long term is the best of the business, if you have money you can pay for advertising campaigns to promote your products.

Now also Twitter has an advertising campaigns. I think it's also important to create a facebook page showing your products, so then trough word of mouth will be easier. In addition there is google+, then youtube where you can enter the video where you can show your products. You just have to understand only what you want to start with.

I wish you a great success with your business.

You must do the SEO. Without SEO, your site traffic, will not increase. You can do some Bankl link, forum posting, blog commenting. you should choose the relevant topics. In case of Link. you can use the do-follow link, because the do-follow link increase your site traffic & page rank. so both of the Page rank & alexa rank will be good.

Use social networks such as Facebook and Twitter to promote your website and services, submit your website link to quality and strong web directories including general and niche, blog commenting is also helpful, post on forums related to wedding. Finally, advertise on places that can generate traffic to your website (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Forums about wedding, etc) .
