Opt-in + email campaign, or single sales page on Clickbank?

Hi all,

Newbie Clickbank (and / or JVZoo) question...

(Context: Product is Online Dating guide - eBook, video series, pre-written profiles, and more - for men who are Underdogs - that is, not tall, dark and handsome).

I have 2 funnels and am wrestling with which is best to implement with Clickbank. I know one is fine, but I'm not sure about the other:

A. Sales landing page with video overview and buy now button.
B. Opt-in page with brief "get these free videos" video once the customer enters email. Then they are put into email campaign + value videos (3 videos) with the final video concluding with the product sell ($47 with 75% commission... no backend yet, its in development).

My specific questions:
1. Can I actually do option 2 in clickbank?
2. Are Affiliates okay with an Opt-In sequence or is this seen as less transparent and therefore not trusted?

I love how helpful everyone is on this forum so I thank you in advance for any input you have.

As a CB affiliate, I basically avoid sequences where the vendor collects emails as part of their funnel. My logic is simple. Why should I spend time and money growing the vendor's email list, even where I have for the most part not made a commission?

My interest is in growing my own list and then getting people on that list to purchase CB products where I earn commissions.

Thanks for that thought. This is exactly what I fear Affiliates would think. If YOU are thinking this (I don't want to grow this guy's list) then I imagine many others think it as well.

Hey Rick! What you can do as well is to create a "Generic" landing page where you collect leads and redirect them to your CB offer.

If you you are in the Dating Niche, you can create a landing page which ambiguous info making people enter their email in order to see what's on the next page.

This way you can create your own customer list on the Dating Niche without building somebody else list.

Then, you can promote another related CB product directly.

        Hope this helps.

I would never promote a CB product that has an optin form on the sales page. If you want to attract affiliates your option "B" will never work.

Thanks Janice, your opinion matches my expectation / concern.

Seems the best thing for me to do is this:
      1. Collect opt-in emails through my own initiatives (Adwords, Organic, etc).
      2. Have a sales page with no opt-in for CB affiliates.

Oh by the way... how do I "thank" someone on this forum? (as you can see, I'm new... but I'd like to be politely new!)

I think you should do option A with option B shown as an "exit pop"...

Most affiliates prefer not to promote a product that requires an optin first, but are fine with the vendor capturing the email address using an exit pop.

I would suggest that in your email follow ups that you DO NOT use an affiliate link and simply refer the subscribers back to the sales page using the RAW url so that the affiliate that sent that person to your site will receive a commission if the subscriber purchases form your email sequence.

Hope this helps and good luck!

    Cheers,
    Coby

    Rick,

Yes, you definitely want to do the squeeze page then free videos and your email sequence. A nice back and forth sequence of valuable information and the offering of buying your product.

And that's great that you've already thought about the backend. Looks like you're heading in the right direction.

    Bill
