Wordpress Default Template: How To Decrease Header Size?
 

Can anyone tell me how to decrease the vertical size of the big
blue header shape with the default theme in wordpress?

Any help is appreciated.

G`day John,

there is free image resizing software available, I believe
the header you`re referring to is TWO part ... a smaller
inner graphic overlayed upon a larger "outer" image.

I do not know offhand how to shrink the header.

But if you're trying to make a blog using Word press, may I suggest not using the default template?

Try picking a different theme and make your blog unique and identifiable. It's hard to build a brand with the default template that 10 million other people are using.

Hi Nick,

Yes, I am using the default template. I just need to know how to decrease
the vertical length of the header.

P.S. I'm not concerned about my site looking different. I specialize in tiny
niche markets and the simpler the better. I've got over 100 HTML sites that
are all plain and ugly = lots of sales.

I'm just moving over to wordpress now for the first time so all of this new
tinkering is a bit of a pain at first.

Basically you'll need to alter the size of the original graphic, and alter the css files accordingly.
