Hi Warriors

Call me green but.......

What's the best way to check my affiliate links in articles/reports? When a potential customer clicks through I don't want them to have any surprises!

Do you mean what they will see or land on after they click your affiliate links or whether or not the links work and will track any sales and commissions you should be earning? In either case, before you post the article or report, click those links yourself and see if they are working or are suppose to go to the merchant site you are an affiliate under.

This is easy, don't overpromise in your ad text or banner. Make sure the messaging is consistent.

You should have a reason to why the readers will click your affiliate links in the reports or articles and they won't be surprised because they wanted to get more details about what you have mentioned in the articles or reports.

If your article provides tips / solution to a problem then the affiliate link in the resource box should lead them to a more detailed solution.

      Hi again

My concern is when I click through it takes me to the landing page and I seem to have no indication that I'll receive a payment when the customer buys. Told you I was green!

David - when you click through to a landing page, go the one further step and click through to the sales page. With Clickbank you will see the affiliate name at the bottom of the sales page. Make sure it's yours!

Also look at all the analytics available to you with the affiliate service, and check if your clicks have been recorded.

Normally everything works OK, but it is definitely worth checking your actions have worked.

        Kind regards

Many affiliate products have analytics built in and you can go to the affiliate site and see where the clicks are coming from etc.

Well... you can always check to see if your affiliate cookie is stored in the browser when you click on the link. But there's of course never any guarantees - the company could close, the affiliate program shutdown, etc. There's always going to be risks when it comes to marketing.
