Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right section to create this thread, but since a lot of us are using WP, I thought maybe someone can help me out here.

Anybody know of a Wordpress tool/plugin that would help me create nice TOP Lists pages, with pics, links and descriptions? Until now I just used text and headings, but I'd like to make it more presentable.

Thanks for any tips, ideas or advice guys!

I would think you could use a "directory" type theme for your top list site. It would simplify the "listing" routine and allow you to add images, sort, etc. There are many such themes on the market. Here is just one example of a good one.

I'm not sure if this is what you are after. But you could try tablepress - you can see it at tablepress.org - it helps you build a table or list with images and descriptions.

Steve, thanks, but that's not what I'm looking for. It's my fault, I wasn't clear enough in my OP.

I'm looking for a plugin for a specific page on my website, rather than a whole theme.

wayneh, this is kind of what I was looking for. I've checked tablepress demos, it doesn't really seem to have the right tools to build the kind of top list I need, but I'll still check it out. Thanks!

      TLondon,

Understood. If you don't find a plugin that will do what you want, you could always create a "template" page to look just how you want it, save it without publishing, then just pull it up and fill in the list data and images when you want to add another list. It may not be the best solution, but I think it would work well and save you time having to re-create the whole thing from scratch every time you wanted to post a new "top list."

You mentioned top list. So you need click rotation and filtering as well? The top lists of 10 years ago had that feature as default. It won't be much of a top list without click counting and rotation.

Nah, I don't really need any of that fancy stuff. Although, if there is such a plugin (with rotation and stuff), that might be very helpful.

Now, all I need is some better visual content to make a good looking list. Right now it looks like this:

      1. Heading
      Image | Description
      Link

      2. Heading
      Image | Description
      Link

...and I need some plugin that would keep the structure but make it more presentable, better looking; not just a page with text on it. You know what I mean? I'm having a really hard time finding anything remotely similar. Maybe there are some visual editors, drag n drop kind of things that allow you to create better looking pages? Or maybe something that add fancy looking numbers next to headings to make it look like a proper ranking list.

      Thanks!

I know of a business directory plugin sold on Code Canyon that you might be able to use for your own purposes of listing whatever you want.

    Here's the main plugin page:
WordPress - WP Business Directory | CodeCanyon

And here's the live preview page where if you click on the "Directories" menu you can see what it looks like.

WP Business Directory Preview - CodeCanyon

Not sure if it will help but thought I'd pass it along.
